Five Angels In A Sports Bar
I came across this interesting collection of photos posted by a young lady from San Diego who was hanging out with her girlfriends at Nationals Sports Bar on October 1, 2006. They sort of tell a story of what happens when you run into five Angels players in a sports bar. She even captioned a few of the photos and describes an altercation between Mike Napoli and Jeff Mathis which I found a little frightening. Anyway here is her story in pictures.
She met Scot Shields there.
And Jered Weaver.
Dallas McPherson. Her caption to this photo:
He was such a sweetheart!
Mike Napoli looking a little blurry-eyed and Jeff Mathis not pictured in any of the photos but her caption to this photo describes that he was the fifth Angel there:
The story of how I saved Napoli from getting a DUI and maybe even saving his life... Mike and Jeff Mathis (Angels Catcher, and such a great guy!) were fighting in the parking lot, I walked up and basically jumped in Mike's car (over Mike) and pulled the keys out of the ignition. I gave the keys to Jeff and continued on with my night! Guess it took a woman to handle Napoli... Haha!
Looks like they were fooling around trying to get Scot Shields to wear an Oakland A's cap.
Scot Shields, Jered Weaver, Dallas McPherson, Jeff Mathis, and Mike Napoli were kind enough to offer one of the ladies their autographs.

If the date is right, it was after the last game of the 2006 season
An 11-10 loss to Oakland. Only time in six season the team didn’t make the playoffs. McPherson and Mathis hit home runs.

I remember that because...
…it was Tim Salmon’s last game, and I was hoping like hell he’d hit his 300th HR.

Yeah, totally.
It could happen! Let's do this for Nick Adenhart, Courtney Stewart, and Henry Pearson.

Hey I was at that game!
I like how they did the “15” on the field for Salmon. Got great pics….now where did I put them?
Happy Birthday to the ground!

called OC Sports Grille now
I haven’t really checked it out in a while, since before they made the change. I think it’s pretty much the same just different menu.

Used to see Percy, AK, and others back around '02 at Nationals after games
Cool guys, just droppin’ by after their workday to grab a cold one. Percy had a sweet Chevelle back then, forgot what year, but that thing was a monster.
