Replays on the JumboTron
I read a couple comments on Pinstripe Alley which said they showed the missed umpire calls in Game Four on the Angels Stadium JumboTron. Is this true? Can someone who was at the game verify this? During the game, I heard the fans booing and one of the announcers said they were reacting to the TVs in the suites, but was the play also on the scoreboard screen?
I've never heard of a stadium showing "controversial" plays on the big screen.

No replays on JumboTron...
But they do show replays on all T.V’s that are in the concourse, which are showing the game broadcast.

Ah, thanks for the clarification.
I was under the impression that the play was on the jumbotron.
It could happen! Let's do this for Nick Adenhart, Courtney Stewart, and Henry Pearson.

They should replay them on the jumbotron...
so immediately the ump can see what as douchebag he is and change it to the correct call.
Do it for Nick '09

Yeah, unfortunately crowd mentality/psychology will not allow that...
I was at a Rams Cardinals game in Sun Devil Stadium once. The usually mild-mannered Cardinal fans went crazy and started throwing FULL WATER BOTTLES onto the field, raining down on the officials and the players after a really bad call went against the Cards. The stadium numb nuts showed the play on the big screen and even slow-motioned the questionable play at the instant it happened. Not a good situation.
I love this team.

The umpires union does not allow close plays on the jumbotron

One can argue
that those plays weren’t close.

There are TV's under the terraces for the 200-level seats.
if you BOO loudly enough from under the terrace levels, one person can start the cascade of booing. I am occasionally THAT PERSON. I don’t like the 200 level simply because you lose visual on the trajectory of even medium pop-ups/line drives. However, I like the 200 level because it makes my loud voice even louder.
That’s how the booing started the other night. The stadium personnel NEVER show close plays on the big screen. NEVER.
I’ll be out in section 258 tonight. I am on a 17 wins out of 18 games streak and am 10 over 500 for 2009 at Angel Stadium. More importantly, I am 1.000 win percentage in the post-season at a big 2 and 0 thanks to the beat-down on the Red Sox.
I’m bringin’ my “A” game … will Lackey, Figgins, Abreu, Juan Rivera, and Vlad bring theirs???
I love this team.

You'll be our lucky charm.
And I’m THAT PERSON at student music/dance/theater performances when the audience is a bit shy, and even though I have small hands I know how to clap REALLY LOUDLY.

Hahaha! I went to an opera in Seattle in January.
My youngest was a dancer in “The Pearl Fishers”, which I had never heard before. It was great and the audience wasn’t shy at all. My only regret was that I had a coughing fit (of course, it only happens when you are at the quiet moment in a concert) and had to step outside near the end, but the ushers whisked me into a glass box at the back of the theater, so I got to watch and hear the whole thing.

I can usually tell by the booing if a call is good or bad. A little booing ok probably a good call, but the booing I heard went around the entire stadium. That pretty much told me it was a BAD call. And I saw it live and it was a bad call.

This is not allowed anywhere
Umpires union has a specific clause in their deal with the mlb that doesn’t allow controversial plays to be shown on the jumbotron.
