Game 6 Rain-out, good thing or bad thing?

Game 6 has officially been rained out, and I'm not quite sure what to think of it. It might not really matter, but I had the opinion that the Halos were hot coming off their 7-6 victory on Thursday. Plus, I thought that maybe the Yankees wouldn't have been exactly ready to play, because I didn't think either team really expected to play tonight....What are your thoughts, opinions, concerns, etc.?

As pissed as I was (because we had already parked -- $40!!!)

I think it’s a good thing. The pressure on the Yanks in this town is astounding. Everyone, I mean EVERYONE (including Michael Kay, the Yankee announcer) is treating game six as elimination. They are sure that if they lose game six, game seven is a given for the halos.

Great fan base. Really confident.

I think that another 24 hours in that pressure cooker can make them feel the icy fingers of pressure closing in on their throats.

On the other hand, Pettit’s record with 5 days rest is far superior to his record on 4 days (regular) rest. Blah blah blah. I am not afraid of Saint Andy (unless my name is Roger Clemons). And I think the specter of Big John pitching on Monday (even if he does not) adds to the pressure to tomorrow night.

Just my humble opinion.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

Any more elaboration on the building pressure in NYC?

Your report is fascinating, to say the least!

Listening to talk radio and the NYY fan base out here

They’re not used to losing games that they lead in the 7th inning and I think that has freaked them out. At this point, they have no confidence in the bridge to Mariano. The fact that this was considered a strength going into the series also unnerves them.

I also think the psychology of NOT coming through in the bottom of the 9th (they were soooo sure) also has them nervous in they had the chance to move on and they blew it.

I’m not sure how much of this bleeds to the players, but it’s fun to watch the fans twist in the wind a little.

Probably doesn't bleed to the players

But it’s fun to speculate—and you never know!

no...

“normal” parking is $30. But I’m still in a wheelchair and the parking garages don’t have working elevators and the streets are too screwed up to wheel more than three or four blocks. Which leads me to lots closer to the stadium (three to four blocks) which cost $40. $30 is still pretty freaking outrageous, but welcome to NY.

I'm surprisingly comfortable with it.

Even though I wont be able to see either of the next two games. Being able to come back with Lackey in game 7 with WTY behind him in the pen, IMO, is a better bridge then anything the Yanks have thrown at us this series (all of this of course assumes we win tomorrow, I have faith).

This team is our extended family, That's why we love them no matter what the record, no matter what the score.

Apologies in advance.

Don't know if it matters.

All I know is that I was amped to watch some ball in the hospital room with my woman, and now I’m let down. I really hope tomorrow isn’t rained out too. If weather’s gonna be an ongoing problem, they could just go back to Anaheim!

No matter what happens from here on, it has been a great season.
