Personally, I would prefer that the Phillies win
because I would hate to see the greedy Yankees rewarded for snapping up every freaking free agent worth a damn.
But I’m not bitter or anything.

Phils because the Skanks don't need another trophy
When I'm not at the stadium, I'd rather be watching my Halos back in Costa Rica!

I am rooting for the Phillies
Because I want to see the Yankee’s lose the World Series with the Payroll that they have.

Yanks in 4 or 5, and...
I won’t be watching a lick of it.
I love this team.

All I want to see
is a good pitching matchup between Lee and Sabathia tomorrow night. I have a friend who got tickets for tomorrows game, so I will be attanding game 1 of the World Series.
I am both excited and disappointed about this at the same time.
I am excited because it is Game 1 of the World Series, I am disappointed because we would have gone to Game 7 of the ALCS if the Angels had won on Sunday.
I plan on taking a ton of pictures and will post them here for those that are interested.
We're putting the band back togehter.

Seconded.
F this World Series. I just want the skanks to lose, and to see those greedy S.O.B.’s pout on national television.

This is why it is worth watching and half-heartedly rooting for the Phillies.

This is almost as bad as...
a Giants-Patriots Super Bowl. I boycotted that game. I probably should regret it, but I don’t.

You didn't miss a thing.
I love this team.
by Downing Rules on Oct 27, 2009 3:54 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
You missed my heart getting ripped right out of my fucking chest while I was still using the damned thing.
There is that.
(Technically, you missed the implementation of the strategy that the Eagles discovered a few games earlier, which is that the only way to beat the Pats was to blitz the unholy shit out of Brady. Failure to do that meant that you were mere roadkill. Execution of that made you competitive. This strategy still goes on today. It is important. Without that, the Pats might still be undefeated and the rest of the NFL would be irrelevant.)
I wonder what John Lackey must think about how long Sosh left Juan Rivera in the playoff lineup?

Mine was ripped out in 2001 by your team...
so there. ;P
As for irrelevance, my team has reached that point. Our “super bowl” is this week — we have a shot at our lone victory for 2009 against the Lions.
I love this team.

They should name the trophy after a commissioner. Not call it Commissioners Trophy.
But what Commissioner? The Selig Trophy? Not! He wishes…

by Monkeyspanked on Oct 27, 2009 4:10 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
My favorite image of Bud Selig will always be
the infamous tied game where he was wringing his fingers nervously as the decision to call the game was coming. Every time the camera showed him, he looked like he was soiling his Hanes knowing he would be vilified for doing it but just not knowing what else to do.
I don’t know why they didn’t just make an emergency rule at the time to allow players back into the game who maybe only played one inning or had a pinch hit or pitched 1 inning or such. In the big scheme of things, who cares? It’s not like it’s a regular season game or anything. But that’s just my opinion.

Trophy name?
How about the Kennesaw Mountain Landis Trophy
by Baylorsgroove on Oct 28, 2009 2:29 AM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Too much negative connotation with him....
He’s the one who kept baseball all white for too long. Sends a mixed signal and would look really bad to have the World Series trophy named for Landis and have Jackie Robinson’s number retired on every team.
Happy Birthday to the ground!

Go Phillies
I won’t be watching (Lakers and Kings seasons interest me more), but go Phillies anyway. Knowing Raul Ibanez’s story, it would be great for him to finally get a ring – and to watch George, Hank and Hal choke on their billion dollar investment.

Yep, a super bowl victory set me up for life...
I never thought I’d see the day. Too bad the witch had to spit in my face first words out of her mouth after winning the Super Bowl, “This PROVES we made the right move in coming to St Louis!”
Joy of victory to sucker punch to the gut in 15 seconds.

Despite my ancient love for the Pats,
I did follow and revere the LA Rams. My rule of thumb for any new LA team would be to say no to public funding in any form and, if the day that the NFL ever had to come crawling back to recover the 2nd largest TV market in America, the NFL had to return the uniforms and the name and the history and the records and the trophy. And make St. Louis invent their own all over again. Or sue Phoenix.
I wonder what John Lackey must think about how long Sosh left Juan Rivera in the playoff lineup?

I am sure St Louisian’s would be open to having their Football Cardinals come back home.

New L.A. team
In my opinion they should get an expansion team so that it will be entirely L.A.’s. And they should name them the Los Angeles Riots. ;P

I think the Yankees will win in 6.
Don’t feel bad you guys. The angels still had one Heck of a season. I bet Nick Aadenhart wouldn’t want you to be all mopey. Do it for Nick. Turn that frown upside down and root for the Yankees in the WS.

I say that because of a few comments you made.
Let’s go Yankees is rubbing it in our face. Wouldn’t be so cool if we had taken the series and I stopped by PA to spout “Let’s go halos.”
Then there is this:
Don’t feel bad you guys. The angels still had one Heck of a season. I bet Nick Aadenhart wouldn’t want you to be all mopey. Do it for Nick. Turn that frown upside down and root for the Yankees in the WS
Not appreciated.
I know we have some posters here that troll elsewhere and stir shit up, but it’s not like it’s incouraged or even appreciated, it projects a bad light on the community. If you were commenting over here doing more stuff like this, there would be less problems. That stuff is funny. See where I am coming from?
Nick would be proud.

I was trying to be nice and didn't mean it like that.
I’m sorry. i will never let it happen again. You’re right. Sometimes I just get a little out of control and don’t realize what I’m saying and how you might interpret it. Please forgive me. I don’t mean to be like that, sometimes you just slip. I really am sorry.
