My Favorite Play of 2009
This is my favorite highlight of the year......Torii's HR snag was a close 2nd however.

Yea
it still irks me when people say that the reason why Chone’s anemic right-handed bat needed to play was because of his defense. Izzy hits lefties WAY WAY better but he only started against righties (his weaker side) so that our leading 2nd half hitter could ride pine. Izzy has/could totally play a great 3B.

When I saw the post I had to make sure we were on the same page...
AND WE ARE! My favorite play of the year too!
Others that come to mind…Torii’s robbery you mentioned, Juancho’s HR robbery, bare-handed play by Eybar to nip DJ last week, and the Torii “go homer!”
What happened to Juan the last couple months? Was he hurt?
Miss you Nick...! RIP

Sigh. Where was that baseball last week?
I could cry.
I wonder what John Lackey must think about how long Sosh left Juan Rivera in the playoff lineup?

Izturis tried for the circus act double play ...

I love this team.

my favorite play of the year.........
Vlad’s single to end Boston’s year……..
Easily the 3rd greatest hit I’ve witnessed as a fan……….Behind Speez’s homerun in Game 6 and AK’s 3rd bomb in the ALCS clincher vs Minn in 2002.
