Hey Punk, do I choose the seven, or the eight, day ALDS
Since it looks like the Central Division is going down to the wire, all tied up. We as Angel fans have to take a wait, and wait some more approach to the 2009 post season.
One hour after tomorrows tie breaker game, which might be the last played at "The Mall of America Dome", the Yankees get to decide whether they will play in the seven-day or eight-day Division Series.
Then we get to find out the starting times of the games being played, and to schedule our health management plans with our employers.
So which will they choose.
ALDS plan "A":
| Game 1 |
Wednesday |
10/7 |
| Game 2 |
Friday |
10/9 |
| Game 3 |
Sunday |
10/11 |
| Game 4* |
Monday |
10/12 |
| Game 5* |
Wednesday | 10/14 |
ALDS plan "B":
| Game 1 |
Thursday |
10/8 |
| Game 2 |
Friday |
10/9 |
| Game 3 |
Sunday |
10/11 |
| Game 4* |
Monday |
10/12 |
| Game 5* |
Wednesday |
10/14 |

Wow really?
They’re already in progress at the metrodome (8-4 MINN bottom 6th) today
The football game is also the MNF game….

The Yankees would be crazy not to take choice A
which forces the Tigers/Twins to fly overnight and play them the next day.

Exactly
Seems like the AL Central winner would be an easy target for the Yanks in choosing schedule A

Totally agree
The Yanks will put the screws to the AL Central winner, forcing them to play the day after clinching. That is a huge advantage.

Yep. Choice A puts the skanks in a strategic advantage.
Disadvantage goes to the Twins or Tigers.

I'm not so sure I agree
The high after winning (especially if it is Minnesota) will propel them in game one if it is the next day. And pitching is really not an issue since with the off day on Thursday, either Detroit or Minnesota will get to pitch their ace with adequate rest.
In addition, the flight to NYC is short from Minnesota and is no different than what they have to do during the regular season.

The Yanks are better with a three man rotation
Play Wood already. Willits sucks.

I will say that MLB finally got something right
in allowing games to be sold on stubhub before the exact time of the game is known. Last year IIRC games were only available once they were for sure going to be played and the time was known.

Don't know about that. The year before it was exactly like this year.

They'll definitely go with Plan A ...
Because the one-game playoff is Tuesday, the Yanks will want to catch the winner with no rest on the Wednesday. So figure we’ll be playing Thursday.

That could be their very big mistake. If the Twins win, they will have the momentum of a runaway big rig on a 5 mile hill.
I just hope whoever it is crushes the Skanks and all their media friends, so that they cry in their sleep.
