is a a “must-win” game – especially in a short-series.
When you’re in a race to win 3 games out of 5, it’s VERY important to win Games, 1 2 and 3.
Just asked the ’82 Angels who blew a 2-game lead to the Brewers (blegh); or the 86 Angels, who blew a 3-1 lead to Boston (RIP, Donnie Moore)

Bizarre fanbase?
How about the Boston bandwagon for bizarre? Most of your fanbase couldn’t name 3 guys on the Red Sox. Hell most still think Manny is still there. You believe in curses like a bunch of back woods idiots scared of voodoo. Boston woman look like truck lot lizards or freaks from the circus. Boston fans have no class and they infest stadiums like cockroaches. I could go on forever. But instead I will just say enjoy your cold world series-less winter.

however, it is a must win. If the Sox win game 1, the team is thinking (along with the fans) “Here we go again…”
If we win game 1, no matter what happens in game 2, I still think the Halos win the series. Coz then the pressure is on the Sox to win both in Fenway and the Halos are thinking “we only need one of two” and are playing more relaxed.
If the Sox don’t win both in Fenway, we come home for game 5 (and subsequently win).

I don't blame Scioscia for starting Mathis
Napoli will pinch hit, if needed, in the late innings. And it’s not like Napoli was on a huge tear for the last two months like last year. He was okay the last week, but the month before that was brutal. He had a .300 batting average at some point in August.

in an unfortunate turn of events for the Red Sox, Abreu gets his revenge on a line-drive come-backer that hits Beckett and knocks him out of the game. Beckett is fine after the incident but is DONE for the remainder of the 2009 postseason.

in the morning, but I started getting extremely nervous around 3, for whatever reason. This game needs to start before I lose my freakin’ mind.

postseason.tv advice
I’m about to suck it up and buy one of these packages to watch games on teh interwebs. Any advice about which one I should get? As annoying as the commentators are, I want to hear the play-by-play in case I happen to walk away… I can’t figure out whether the $10 package has audio.
