I remember reading recently about some people wondering whether any of our players had FB pages. Tonight, my wife was talking about Lackey's wife being kinda cute, so we googled around for pictures. Well, my wife found her FB, and went through her friends list, finding these names, and potential names... Funny enough, as my wife was looking at the friends, she was amazed to find that I had a friend in common with Mrs. Lackey... who woulda thunk?

With Napoli for awhile now.

No, its not creepy.

People need to get over web-based social networking as creepy. You put yourself on the web then you put yourself in a vulnerable place to be discovered. Its a public site and public forum. Its no different than looking up the telephone number of someone famous who happen to be silly enough to put there phone number in the white pages.

Now if you started calling that number and leaving messages then maybe it could be considered creepy. Just as if you started sending pointless messages via FB to these guys.

Think about it though? How to journalist seek people out? As silly as it sounds, Facebook could be a gateway for HH to get some interviews.

Isn’t that the exact kind of thinking that got pie on Chucks face over on Angelswin? He got duped into thinking he was getting a real interview from Walden(i think) through his face book and it turns out it was a fake interview….I don’t think FaceBook should be used as a journalism tool. Social networking, catching up with old friends…fine, but journalism should be done the correct way, through proper channels, otherwise, it’s just the wild west out there.

I dont know what happen with Chuck...

and sure, FB isnt the best way to go about things.

However, connections can exist in small circles that are often impenetrable. My point is that online is the direction that everything is going. There arent set rules for what things can and cannot be used for.

For example, I was doing some freelance work and wanted to get an interview with a band. I found their PR contact info on their myspace and got the interview. Sure, I didnt contact them directly through myspace but the site proved more resourceful than just for “catching up with old friends.”
