Upload Thread - ALDS Game 1
Since so many people are unable to attend an Angels playoff game, I have taken it upon myself to start a thread where those of us who were able to watch this glorious event can share our pictures with everyone else.
My photos were taken from Section 131 Row X which is just in line with Bobby Abreu and near the top of the Field Level. I was able to take pictures during pre-game and post-game, but with a low battery (forgot to charge) I was reluctant to waste battery on game shots from such a distance. However, I was able to take some interesting crowd shots. Hopefully those of you who weren't at the game will enjoy them.
PS- If anyone else went to the game, feel free to use this thread to share your photos as well. I think this is a solid tradition to start for playoff games.
Getting psyched for the game...
Actor Larry Miller (from tv and movie fame- most notably to me was 10 Things I Hate About You) at the game in my row. Apparently his son is Boston fan. Wanker.
Vladdy's million dollar smile during intros.
I love America.
Hats off and lined up for the national anthem
The guy next to me bought this shirt in 1979... I believe it's a new WIN picture.
Game shot... so often my view was obstructed by aisle walkers. "Where's my seat? idk... I guess I'll just stand right here and watch." Not just Boston fans either...
Best... tattoo... ever... This would make a great Win or Lose picture... Hell, it's just an amazing tattoo.
The mighty Papi strikes out to end the game. No quantity of spit can make those hands quick enough to hit that pitch.
High fives after the game... such a sweet win.
Scoooooooreboooooaaaaaard
Thundersticks!
Sad Boston fan leaving the game. He looks like he's gonna cry. To be fair, I teared up a little... for the Adenhart video (which happens every time) and when Torii hit that 3-run blast (There was such a release in the crowd. It was passionate and relaxing at the same time.)
Food for the rally rats!
Enjoy! Now for Game 2...
This Fan-Post is authored by an independent fan. Tell us what you think and how you feel.

Among the best game pics ever on this site
Bruion Halo panther
We are the Los Angeles Angels of the late 2000s
I forgot my camera
So only have grainy cell phone pictures. They’re pretty much terrible. Especially from up in Lower View.
Consolation though, I did antagonize (not hostile-like, not looking for fights) all the Boston fans around me. Several of these guys didn’t know the first names of their batters….yeah…. It was awesome to finally win one against these guys in Anaheim.
1 down, 2 to go.
RIP #34
i have two nice panoramic pics from my friends iphone saved in my iPhoto...
i want to share but don’t know how…. anybody have any advice, thanks
2009 Angels Season: Let's Do This For Nick
You gotta put them on some photo sharing site first
And then just copy that url into the tiny little window that comes up when you click the picture of the tree below the title when writing comment (not when it’s been posted)
RIP #34
Flickr is free and they don't spam you. Ever.
I’ve had my account for years, and I pay for mine now because I wanted a lot of storage one year, but these days the free storage is huge.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
Awesome, thanks

I use tinypic.com
thanks to advice from highlandhalo.
No signing up necessary. Easy to use. Plus they give you all sorts of urls/sharing options.
I use photobucket and love the editing feature but my beef is that they will delete a photo if they deem it inappropriate
like a cartoon witch I had that showed her bum “mooning”. It was completely clean and yet it was deemed bad. I emailed them and told them to pull their heads outta THEIR moon
Nice job. Good content.
My question is: Is Larry Miller’s son also wearing a Mariners hat? I’m no Ralph Lauren when it comes to dressing my kids but, wow, major parenting fail!
Captain, there are doubt's...
I'm a failure as a parent: my daughters live in Seattle and root for the Mariners.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
lol
Were they bad kids? Why do they feel the need to punish themselves like that?
Captain, there are doubt's...
The older one was very well-behaved,
skipped the Terrible Twos and Snotty Sixes and Sevens. Never had any trouble with either girl but the younger one has a very strong personality, and everyone had to adapt, especially her. My son was a good kid too, and turned out well.
I think it’s that they’re not rabid fans and that’s the closest team, and they go and have a couple of beers and…. and they called me during an Angels/Mariners game to gloat when the Mariners won early in the season. I think the girls were a bit fried. Rotten children.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
Awesome pics
Thanks for sharing! As a previous Angel season seat holder who had to move to Utah (now a Bees season seat holder- fun, but not the same!), I miss those Angel games so much! Those pictures bring me back!
Make sure to add them to the “official” Angels Group on Flickr if you can, so we can have a
permanent place to archive them.
I'm not superstitious, but I'm a little stitious.

My seats are at the front of section 228.
We have the same problem with aisle-walkers. Some people are so completely oblivious to others. They act as though they are the only one’s in the stadium.
Anyway, good photos. I will be there tonight and will try to post some photos from the game.
My pictures are on Flickr:

I had a mountain of a man in the seat below me, between me and the game, and his head blocked half the view when he stood up. When Torii hit that home run last night I could see the pitcher past his right ear and Torii past his left. I saw the ball leave Lester’s hand and I saw Torii swing and flip his bat when he knew he got all of it. The guy was so excited he stood through nearly half the game. Well, so did everyone else, but still.
I got some shots by stepping into the aisle.
That game was like a high school football game when you’re 16.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
Not his fault he's a big guy
And he was doing the right thing… standing and representing, so that the Chowds wouldn’t have a chance.

I know. And he was completely decked out in Angels gear and so was his wife. The people to my left were eating and didn't stand up,
and they missed the home run. They were surrounded by a wall of people from the moment Torii stepped to the plate, looked like they were at the bottom of a well.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
Disclaimer
I may not be standing most of Game 2. I’m in nosebleeds (near the top of 507) and I’m afraid of heights.
If I was lower down, I’d be on my feet the whole game.

Dear Lord, memories of the home playoff game 2007 in the nosebleeds.
Those ranks of seats are a lot steeper I think, because at first when I sat down I felt like I had to hang onto the armrests so as not to fall into the park.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
Turned out to be the row one from the top.
I was freaking out at first, but then I chilled, and was even able to stand up without panicking most of the game.

You do get used to it after a while, but just.
I shudder every time I think about buying seats up there. The ones in Dodger stadium all those years ago were benches, not even chairs. Can’t remember if we sat on cement or wooden benches.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
Club Section
has the flattest grade of any section in the park – and if you sit in the front row the safety bar is at eye level. Terrible, and too concrete to change.
i have to figure out what i'm doing
my “friend” is playing at the bar during the game. but don’t know if there is a tv at the bar (never been at that one before) and doubt the game will be on. but they won’t play until 1am, so i don’t know.
but great pics. great idea to do that.
"Food For the Rally Rats"..............ROFL
That was the best pic!!!
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL
I had to begrudgingly laugh too.
Nick, you will always be an Angel. And you will be missed.

Security on Vespas and APD in squad cars
As for in the game, some fights but pretty well handled.

quick question:
would it be weird to go to a game alone?
great pics, dude. wish i was there.
"it's mind-bottling."
Who are we to judge?
I would go to a game alone in a heart beat, although I’d rather share the experience with friends and family.
Being in Santa Barbara, and saving for my soon-to-be daughter, I’ll be watching every game on t.v. Unless someone wants to take me for free (which has happened, in 07, courtesy of the owners of Diamond Baseball Co).
This season is my best chance to get called out of the stands to pitch.

No. Not if you can only snag a single ticket to a great game. Especially a playoff game.
If it were me, I would not use my seat. Stay out on the concourse and walk around and make plenty of new friends out of your fellow fans and have a hell of a great time.
