Further Sports Writing problem:
It does not show on the online versions of their columns. The Register’s version seems cleaned up a bit. The hardcopy versions I saw today were a lot more obvious. But the sidebar pieces of Mike DiGiovanna of the LA Times and Bill Plunkett of the OC Register were incredibly similar.
In the print versions of both pieces, both authors led with Napoli starting over Mathis, with same quotes from Sosh and slightly different presentation of same data.
Both then went to the exact same second topic of Bulger making the roster, even beginning this second topic with the same phrasing (“The Angels were satisfied…”). And, again, both made the same points in about the same number of column inches.
One of these guys appeared to be reading the other…
