Seriously…the fans that get upset about noise or think Angel fans are “obnoxious” for making noise should go jump in front of a semi on the 57

a story, actually featuring the red sox

I went with my father (above) and my brother, to an angels/sox game a few years ago, where Casey Kotchman lined a ball off of the pitcher’s crotch.

Listen. This is a funny thing. I don’t like it when players get hurt, but come on. I am human. If you hit a man in the crotch, do I not laugh?

So, my brother and I frickin bust up. The Red Sox fan in front of me turns around and says “have some class.”

Now, I understand that laughing at someone who is hurt is pretty classless, but then I realized that I was at a damn baseball game. This wasn’t a cotillion. This wasn’t an elegant ball. There was a Red Sox fan in the same section with a shirt that said “Jeter has AIDS”. That’s how baseball is. Deal with it. Don’t be a drunken boor, but get into things. Also, laugh when someone gets hit in the crotch.

That's funny, I had the same kind of thing..

…Went to the last Yankee/Angels series in September and one of the Yankees went down on what looked like a pretty weak injury, didn’t look like it hurt that bad. I yelled something like “Walk it off p***y” and some yankee fan said, “Real classy angels fan.” I turned and just said, “I’ve been coming to Yankee/Angel games for years and Yankee fans have no right to talk about class.”

When we’re assholes, we’re classless, but when they’re assholes, it’s passion.

went to a fcs playoff game

and when one player went down, the opposing team kept playing their marching music…that isn’t cool.

I don't like it loud

I LOVE IT LOUD. The atmosphere of a baseball game is amazing and a loud baseball stadium is a good one.

I'm with Amy too.

Wish she had a bigger stage for that to be heard.

I thought this was going to be a NSFW article...

Screw those other ‘fans’. Go watch the game at home if you want it quiet.

by Big Game Hunter on Oct 9, 2009 1:02 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

well said Amy!

i hate the fans that look at you like “why are you cheering!!??”.

I'm not superstitious, but I'm a little stitious.

by lightupthehalo on Oct 9, 2009 1:06 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

It's an outdoor sporting event...

If people don’t like the cheering they shouldn’t have come to the game. If you are any type of an Angels fan you should have known it was going to be loud last night and probably even louder tonight. The team likes it loud – they feed off it and I’m going to feed them. I want them to win and will help however I can…

So, anyone reading this and you don’t LOVE it loud – come to the park and sell your tickets to another Angels fan and then go home and watch us have a blast and realize you missed out cause you want it quiet. It is NOT going to happen tonight.

i was in section 238

the place was electric….and to my eye, the boston “fan” base looked a little lighter.

Loud!

That’s one of the best things about the playoffs – the energy, the noise – I can’t wait to go tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't there but

it appeared on TV that there were barely any Sox fans around. The chants of “Let’s go Red Sox!” that I usually hear (painfully) during the regular season were no where to be found. In fact, I heard “Boston sucks!” quite a few times. Screw being quiet, that is ridiculous. Go Amy!

by Lompoc Angel Fan on Oct 9, 2009 1:47 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

When we heard any inkling of a "Let's go red sox" cheer...

we’d instantly start yelling “BOSTON SUCKS!”

I love this team.

i was at the game

there really were very few sux fans there, it was pretty awesome.. the only ones that i did see in LF got in a fight and kicked out..

I have a funny story about that too...

My wife, sister, and 3 year old nephew went to an Angel game a few years back.

The Angels had a come-from-behind victory and during the rally my 3 year old nephew turns to my wife and says, “Rachel, when you yell, you hurt my ears and my feelings!”

LOL, classic!

Here's the deal.

Loud is great. But ive been to a game where there were 10 screaming 16 year old girls, right behind me, who had a hankering for every latin player on the angels team, and they would scream in a decible my ears have never heard before. Fuck that.

But cheering insanely loud with thunder sticks a-clappin? HELL YES.

I EVEN APPROVE OF TYPING LOUD!

Been there, done that.

Had some tix I got from Deadend once, and we were sitting in front of some chick I called “Janice”.

I called her that because she sounded exactly like Janice from “Friends”.

She spent the entire game talking to her pal about her sex life. If I wanted to hear about someone’s sexlife, I’d call 1-900-SOME-BABE

Oops missed a part

Anyways, “Janice” had a love-thing for Bobby Wilson… and her “OH MY G-D!!! BOBBY WILSON!!!!” was the most annoying thing I’ve heard (other than her sex life info).

'Janice' wouldn't be that chick in those AXE animations within the ad spaces around here, would she?

You know, the one riding her boyfriend like a rodeo event?

Nope. Fat and ugly.

Speaking of which, the chick in the AXE commercials on TV (the one who attacks her BF) is hot.

Tell the noise police to go back to their Mansion

and enjoy watching a game of Damn Croquet for crying out loud! It’s a baseball game if you can’t handle get the $%#$ OUT!

The louder the section, the bigger the party...

Whenever I’ve gone and it was loud, everybody around us just got louder and everyone started talking to each other and it made it even more fun.

If you want it quiet then stay the hell home!

It was loud in there last night...

but nowhere close to the loudest I have heard it…they only gave thunderstix to about the first 1/3 of the people at the game…it was lame!

oh, and tell the people in front of you that they are missing a great game...

it’s the other direction! Offer then tissue to put in their ears cuz they are lucky they aren’t in front of me…I have an EAR PIERCING WHISTLE…it will turn your face blue! And I use it as often as possible at the games! Listen for me…I am in the LF Pavillion again tonight…wooohooo!

Insanely loud

Although I must say that the loudest game I have been to was the inaugural WBC at the stadium. Japan vs Korea. THAT was way loud; those fans knew how to party.

And one other thing, Angels fans, let’s show some freaking class! I was out by the bullpen and there were Angels fans throwing peanuts at the Red Sox bullpen. Unacceptable behaviour. If we want to claim fan superiority, then we gotta do it with class and not act like a bunch of idiots.

by Vlad Dracul on Oct 9, 2009 2:27 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

exactly...

there is absolutely no need for us to act like they do. To loosely quote the video before the game. “If someone is marring your enjoyment of the game please tell one of the ushers.” And they will probably be thrown out — like I heard happened last night.

by angelsfan777 on Oct 9, 2009 2:39 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Nothing

annoys me more than people telling me to sit down or shut up during a game. People, it’s a sporting event — you’re supposed to be loud and wild, especially in the playoffs. Luckily I was in a section last night with fans who share the same views as myself. I’ll be there again tonight, and hopefully the people around me will be loud and ready to cheer on the Halos.

haha

there were 3 sux fans sitting right in front of me, and it must’ve been the worst seat in the house for them.. i had my thundersticks pounding almost the entire game, yelling and screaming for my team! GO HALOS!!!

I like Amy's commentary, except ...

for the part where she started cheering when the scoreboard told her to. C’mon. I have the hardest time trying to get everyone around me to start clapping and then all of a sudden the scoreboard shows it and then people clap.

I guess I need to work on my mass motivational skills.

I love this team.

I agree 100%. However, BE CAREFULL WITH YOUR EARS!!!!

I Always bring ear plugs to games. It is possible to damage one’s ears so that they ring not just for a day or two, but for YEARS. Noise induced cochlear damage is possible. Please be aware and take caution.
That being said, to expect others to be quiet is ridiculous. I Was getting irritated in game 2 because the fans at the game didn’t get very loud until the third or fourth inning.

Ear plugs. Cheap. Effective. Proven.

Now let’s go scream our asses off!

(This from a guy who has suffered from tinnitus for 40 years. I NEVER hear silence. And it was caused by firecrackers in the hands of an asshole older borther.)

The guys in front of us told us they didn't take the thunderstix at the gate because they wanted to "blend in".

I have no idea what that means since they were really obviously Angels fans, but they said they like to cheer quietly. I haven’t yet wrapped my head around that. I was making a lot of noise but I don’t think I annoyed them. I tried not to smack the thunderstix too close to them, and one of mine popped early in the game.

THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!

Guess what I did with my ThunderStix in WS?!

Have to laugh remembering what I did with my thunderstix in game one! Had great seats (thanks Dad!) We noticed after awhile that we were sitting directly behind a row of Barry Bonds family and friends(let me mention here how much I despised him!) and then I got real excited cause I recognized the leopard coat of the woman right below me,it was his wife!Had seen her on TV in the Giants playoffs. She was acting bored which boggled my mind?! I then took the greatest pleasure, with a real innocent look on my face,of pounding those stix as hard as I could directly above her head. LOL When mine started to deflate I promptly started back up with my nephew’s! I still LMAO when I think about it! She was pissed! Ha!
