On this day in 2003 - Six Long Years Ago, Bengie Molina won his 2nd consecutive Gold Glove and I blogged a short tribute to one of the great Angels backstops.

As a Napoli superfan...

I still consider Bengie the greatest Halo catcher of all time.

Solid bat + gold glove(s) = great catcher

RIP NA

Why in the world

did we let Benji walk? I remember in 05 when we were struggling to score runs, Benji would always come thur.

Let the Bengie and Benji confusion begin!

One was a large catcher the other a small yet scrappy plays-once-in-a-while utility infielder. I always laugh when people confuse the two names. Kinda like the eternal Halladay and Holliday that everyone wants to sign or trade for or Oakland’s pitching tandem of Harden and Haren.

I love this team.

Too bad SBNation apparently doesn't offer up any good pics of Bengie as a Halo.

Had I owned the Pittsburgh Pirates, I could have saved America.

Bengie, remains to this day, the best clutch hitter I have ever seen from the last 10 years of Halos.
