New found love for Rick Reilly
Came across this at espn today ...... have got to say that i was very pleased to find it. I will always hope and pray for year in and year out success of the Angels but not if it would mean that Mr. Reilly would write this about us. Who am I kidding, I probably would! Here's to hoping that our World Series winning run starts next year
They're having a parade because the New York Yankees won the title? Why not throw one because a bear ate a salmon? Or a hurricane knocked over a trash can? Hey, the bully just gave the nerd a wedgie! Let's throw a parade!
Look, the Yankees played well. But isn't that what the Yankees are supposed to do? They paid their players almost twice as much as the Phillies team they beat -- $208M to $111M. Just the Yankees starting infield made more than 15 teams this year. Throw them a parade? I don't get it. So what? George Clooney got a girl, Paris Hilton slept in satin sheets last night and Bill Gates went to the bank. Call me when you've got some news.
MORE... at the link in my first paragraph.

Because he “sang” at one of the games? He partially owns the Nets? Other than that, it’s anyone’s guess…

Hmmm
Did him and Alicia do “empire state of mind” at the parade…cuzz that would make sense.
Jay Z Lyrics from “All I Need”
Now run along wit’cha little ass hits
Read my rap sheet nigga, THREE CLASSICS
Shut ya bumba’ got A-Rod numbers
All you muddaskunks get buried in the trunk
When I blast the pump, I leave you relaxed
In the hospital lookin’ at F*U*C*K for months
Then I dumps dough on the D.A. desk
And the fleece got free and pee-pee on the steps…
We’ve got no respect
No law or governin’ why you fuckin’ wit’ him?
Matta’fact, why you fuckin’ wit’ them?
All ya’ll need is the R-O-C baby
Irony?

The most difficult thing for me
is that all this was publicly admitted by MLB nearly a decade ago.
Nothing has been done. Things HAVE gotten worse. Things WILL CONTINUE to get worse. And Yankee fans will still be in denial.
Had I owned the Pittsburgh Pirates, I could have saved America.

No support from first-tier owners or the Players Union
The first-tier owners don’t want to share the money earned from broadcast revenue and sports channels—they want that to be “plus money”—and as long as those revenue streams are in place, it is much easier to write the check for the luxury tax.
The Players Union doesn’t want revenue sharing because it would depress salaries (at least, that is their theory).
With only the second-tier owners in support, there is no way there will be traction for what has otherwise worked well in the NBA and NFL.

Perhaps we fans should unionize
We should become a special interest group like AARP.

Hey, I hate them as much as anyone
But I wish Artie had a network. I wish we had signed CC and Tex and Kendry played right field. I wish I was watching the parade in Anaheim and listening to BoSux and Philly fans moaning about our payroll structure.
Bottom line…I wish we had won. Anyway that was legally possible. Begrudging the Yankees their victory is opening the door to those who will equally criticize us in 2010.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
by Moondoggy on Nov 6, 2009 6:13 PM PST reply actions 0 recs
I agree with almost everything you said...
but we don’t need to open the door because they will criticize us anyway.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!

Amen
Now if only Bud Selig would read that and something about competitive imbalance. (But that will never happen as it requires leadership.)
OK, I'm finally over losing Tex. Thanks Kendry.
