Looking at that picture
I half expected him to squeal a high-pitched “oooooo”, grab his crotch and start moonwalking.
The before and after of his wife are telling
Before: “I love my dark. Handsome. Latino Man.”
After: : “meh. The gringo still got money.”
Sammy: " Chee-Hee! Cha-mon, Cha-mon. Chi-chi-cha-kaa! Hee-Hee!!!"
Vitiligo
If Sosa does have Vitiligo and he chose to bleach his skin to make it a uniform color, that would explain it.
Take a look at a picture of Bengals player JD Runnels who has Vitiligo and does do anything to hide it:
