If I told you that...
If I told you that in this upcoming season, the Mariners would win the West in a landslide, the Phillies would knock off the Yankees in yet another World Series matchup, and our beloved Halos achieve a pedestrian record of 90-72, but somehow win the wild card with that record, what would your reaction be? Keep in mind that we win this wild card holding off the Rangers and Red Sox in this situation.
As Always, Go Angels.

No offense but the Sox just added your ace and a very solid CF
It’ll take more than 90 to win the Wild Card.
Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.
This is hilarious
You’d think we have a bad team with posts like this. I’ll guess that we win the AL West with 95 wins.
As of right now. . .
We lost our leadoff hitter.
We lost GG caliber D at the hot corner.
We lost our ace.
We lost (assuming) one of the most entertaining players the franchise has ever known.
We lost one bullpen arm for sure, possibly our most consistent as well.
We have gained a aging DH only (who was WS MVP i think, so that is good).

no offer of arb.
They don’t want to pay him for some reason.

Too bad we only have some slouch named Wood to play 3B now.
And we lost our leadoff hitter… so sad… if only we had a SS who could pick up the slack.
Your lamentation that we lost an entertaining player is valid… but he was an aging DH (who hasn’t been to a WS) and we picked up an entertaining (to a certain crowd) DH who hits from the left side.
So far… I think the only valid sadness comes from the loss of an ace and potentially Oliver. But not to worry, aces are lost to FA all the time and bullpen help is out there. And the best part… someone new always seems to step up. Which reminds me… Torii has been the new face of the franchise for the last two years as Vlad has faded, and he comes with the added bonus of speaking English and interviewing well.
When the playoffs become such a disappointment to everyone?
Jesus christ. When did we become so entitled and elitist? I don’t understand. Sound like god damn Yankees fans.

This.
I will forsake Angels fans (though not the team) the day we all consider a 90 win season to be “pedestrian.”
“pedestrian” was definitely a word I didn’t wanna use.. But I couldn’t think of another word that would get my point across..

How on earth do the Mariners "win...in a landslide"?
Who is driving in Ichiro and Figgins?
Who is pitching the other three nights when it isn’t Felix or Lee?
C’mon, join the rest of us in reality. The Mariners improved their team in two areas, but still have holes to fill elsewhere.

Come on people.... look at this lineup
ss-Eckstein
2b-Kennedy
3b-Glaus
RF-Salmon
CF-Erstad
LF-Anderson
C-Molina
1b-Gil/ Spezio
P- Washburn
Do you think anyone going into 2002 would have said that looked like a World Series Championship lineup? There is NO way to predict what a team will do. We dont know if Wood will put it together. We dont know if a couple SP will get injured. We dont know if Kendrick or Mathis will break out. There are so many unknowns its silly to give up before we even play a game
