Lackey-Red Sox Deal Not Done Yet
If Lackey agrees to this it'll be a major win for the Red Sox. Suddenly the deal doesn't look like such an albatross. On the other hand, if I were Lackey, I'd tell the Red Sox to shove it and kill the deal.

Lackey’s got to be hating this.
Ya, all of a sudden taking a deal because it's 5 years doesn't seem like such a big deal
when the team has an out in the deal.
Maybe Lackey tells the Sox to forget it and takes our 4/72?

From what I understand
the out for the Sox is only good for the first 3 years.
If Lackey misses playing time with elbow problems, the Sox can just back out of the deal.
I hope the water is warm in Boston
He’ll need it to wash away that shame.
I miss Hudler already.
