This year is gonna be awesome
With so much negativity coming from Halo fans all over " Happy Halo Land" as Rex would say, I can't help but think
that this year is going to one of the best yet. Vlad was a serious hole in the lineup during most of the regular season
( although I love the guy ) last year and we replaced him with someone who is a great clutch hitter that can produce
in the post season. Figgy played well over his abilities last year and I'm happy that Wood is finally going to get a
shot to play full time. Most people forget that Shields is coming back this year so our bullpen will be MUCH better.
Lackey is gone but I knew he was leaving last spring when he didn't sign an extension. Lackey hasn't even been all
that great during the season the last few years, and we have three former all stars going 1, 2, 3.
With Vlad gone we need someone who is going to be the face of our franchise. Do you really want that guy to be
Jason Bay or Matt Holliday? Who knows maybe we can pull off a midseason trade to land Cabrera from the Tigers if
Wood doesn't work out. I like Tony's patience, there's no need to rush we can win the division again no prob. The
Mariners arent going to challenge us with two leadoff hitters, even with two aces. Bring on the season! Bring on the
All star game, and bring on the west ! Anything can happen if we get into the playoffs again.

Go back to "manage fanposts" and hit the "edit" button then let it rip.
The 2009 Pregame Picks Winner and Iron Man of Halos Heaven.com
Yeah, I'd go back and edit before somebody makes a "retarded gerbil" comparison
Which happened to another unfortunate poster a week or two back.
The edit button should be under your original post somewhere.
Welcome aboard!

I see Torii Hunter as "the face of the franchise"
- is just an awesome player and an awesome guy. Great all-around player, great smile, great sense of humor; handsome, articulate (in English), and this guy is just a Man in the community—nobody does more, and, as the song goes: “Nobody Does It Better”—though I’m referring to charitable prowess, not sexual ;). And remember: last year he was playing magificently and crushing the ball—before he ran into the wall, and was out 3 weeks or so. Tori WAS our MVP—and the co-leader at that time with Jason Bay for projected leage MVP honors—until then, and had amazing stats up to that point. (I couldn’t find a link to supply the stats, sorry, but he was near the top in runs, rbi and HR’s).
He wasn’t quite the same when he came back from the (ribs?) injury. But I think he’s gonna lit it up again this year. (They need to pad that centerfield wall better. Or maybe he should wear body armor…)
He just had sports hernia surgery
And the doctor told him he should actually have improved range, flexibility, and power now because the problem is now permanently fixed. It was in his blog a little while after the ALCS. As long as he hits the gym in the offseason, which it’s safe to say he will, we should expect the same Torii next year.

Hitting the wall...
And remember: last year he was playing magificently and crushing the ball—before he ran into the wall, and was out 3 weeks or so.
Yeah, but the wall went on the 60-day DL.
Angels baseball. We do what we must, because we can -- HaloDutch
He crashed into walls several times last season...
…before going on the DL. I think he was injured at a Dodger game in May, but he kept right on crashing…Anaheim and Pac-Bell that I recall. Pac-Bell was scary. That must be the wall on the 60 day DL.
The wall in San Fran
was contemplating retirement after that crash.

I was at the game in SF
He hit the wall and no one spoke for 10 seconds. The thud was just echoing.

I blog about the Angels at The Diamond Aces
Agreed
Torii is clearly the face of the franchise now. Weaver too.
Agreed X2: Torii Hunter and Jared Weaver will be the faces of the franchise for 2010
I was just thinking about Weave being one of the big players for the team—he just neeeds to grow his hair back!
I also think Godzilla is going to be huge marketing-wise, and not just in Japan and Asia.
Sort of a triad of Hunter, Weaver, Matsui
I don't have any links
But it’s been said on a number of occasions that he’s fully expected to be back in 2010.

Yeah, when I think of the Angels I think of Torri
I love the guy. I Liked watching Vlad play because he always had a smile on his face and appeared to enjoy playing the game. Jason bay and even Teixera seem to lack the character that make them interesting to watch and cheer for.
Thats funny.
When I think of twins baseball i think of Torii.

Face of the Franchise
Give it some time and Kendry Morales will be the face of the franchise. I agree that Torii Hunter is the current face of the franchise and I am damn glad to have him.
Someone already said it, but he is a great guy and love his effor on the field.
Light up the Freakin Halo!
