kinda off topic, and not in the direction of the video, just in general
but with the “my favorite player is Adenhart” threads around HH, does it seem odd? He did not play for the Angels more than a year, and there is all the love for him (granted he is doing what he loves, which i totally admire). That sounds very rude cruel and sadistic of me to say. I know he had tremendous upside (debate that term as you see fit), but can a person who player only one year be considered your favorite player (granted unless you followed the guy up from the minors or knew him elsewhere).

Id say most fans dont follow the angels minor leaguers, and I too hear fans say NA was my favorite angel. But I did become a fan of Santana after I went to see his first win at the big A, there is only 2 players I really like Vlad and Santana. So I guess you can be a big fan after 1 game. I dont see people loving NA during the 08 season, due to his rough starts.

yeah i agree if you went to a game where he made his debut or saw him play, and loved the way he did it – yeah be a fan. but it seems a bunch of people are “hoping on the bandwagon”

He was a good looking young kid who made a start on opening week for a high profile team
There was strong emotional attachment to a guy who was the next great pitching hope for the Angels and it really isn’t based on merit, but what happened to NA [hours after he made his start] and imagining what could have been otherwise [based on potential and whatnot].
Not to make light of the NA tragedy [and of recent events regarding a former Halos reliever], but if this was Jose Arredondo, I doubt it would have gotten as much press and people would have moved on already.
Or is Kendry perhaps the one who needs to sit?
