Represent YOUR HOOD in the "fan base"
Suddenly Godzilla stompts into our yard, highlighting the global nature of today's baseball biz, and Hideki Matsui will hopefully hit a ton of ropes into the RF bleachers and make us forget about tears for Vlad, GA, The Kingfish, the Ryan Express, and all the other dear departed. On a pure baseball footing, Hideki Matsui looks to be a superb signing for us.
Big Hideki not only adds countless fans to our "fan base" from the Land of the Rising Luminous Power, but he is also a Damn Good Baseball Player. Happy to have him ... and so should be Halos fans from everywhere. (btw ... Mr Matsui, please help get us the services of Mr Yu Darvish, from your native land.)
But we all come from somewhere called home ... This is what makes up the the Angels' "fan base".
Where does this so-called fan base of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim actually exist? OK, I am biased towards areas near the Stadium, and my own belief is that the Angels' fan base emanates from St. Joseph Hospital of Orange (circa 1964), but what do I know? For all I know, the Angels' fan base may have actually started circa 1888 when Vladimir Guerrero was born on a whaling ship in the Caribbean Sea.
So where is YOUR Angels fan base? Express your bad-ass self and represent YOUR hood in the poll below and comment with the explosive speed of a moon shot off the bat of Mr Matsui ...
This Fan-Post is authored by an independent fan. Tell us what you think and how you feel.

It's a way of pigeon-holing people, so you don't have to think of them as people like you or me.
The area code for the Inland Empire used to be 714, but some people in the current 714 seem to think there’s something inferior about the people who live there… least that’s what I took away from the last 909er conversation I had, and that was a doozy. A teenage girl died at a party in South County, and the attitude from the adults was almost, “It’s ok, she wasn’t from here.” What they said was, “Oh, she was a 909er.” and rolled their eyes.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
IE is 951/909
909 is for the inferior ‘Fontucky’ references. I, of course, live in the upscale 951.
Whatever the hell that means.
So, Fontana is 909 but is Riverside still 909? And what is Moreno Valley these days
Asking because my dad lives in Upland in an upscale area and his area code is 909.
We lived in the BEST zip code in Riverside County for a while, considered more solidly upscale than Palm Springs. If you saw the neighborhood, though, it just looks like a middle class neighborhood with well-maintained houses built in the 20s and 30s.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
All of Riverside County is 951.
Except for the low desert which is 760 I believe.
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
So places like Moreno Valley and Indio are considered more upscale than Upland.
That’s amusing.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
Yeah, my point was it wasn't on the list.
Rev is neglecting part of the fan base. Very few Doyer fans in the 909/951.

There are a lot of us Halo fans in the I.E.
But, it also depends where you’re at. I grew up in San Bernardino, and Berdoo is a doyer enclave. As is most of San Bernardino County’s west end (Fontucky, Rancho, Ontario, Montclair, Chino, Upland etc.) however, here in Riverside County, the Halos are well represented. I live in Temecula, where most identify themselves as Padre fans. But the Halos are a very close second. Thankfully, doyer, skankee and bosux fans are few and far between. But yeah, the I.E. should’ve been on the list. After all, there are over 4 million of us in Berdoo/Riverside counties.
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
Yeah
I’m pretty sure we have a greater fan-base than John Lackey’s colon, especially after the movement. No pun intended.
Apologies in advance.

I am actually in French Valley, but grew up in Corona.
& for the record, my mom’s has had the same phone number for about 30 years now (except for the area code). When I memorized it in kindergarden it was 714, then it changed to 909, and now it is 951.
But I found it hard to believe the first time I had a conversation with someone who had the SUPREME area code of 714 and anyone from the IE was subhuman or something…racism, sexism, and now area-codism? What’s next!?

its only a 30-40 min drive to anaheim, so I catch plenty of angels and ducks games. And there are dodger fans that live here, but they usually live in the rougher areas of town. I’d say there are more angel fans than dodger fans, but there’s enough of both to talk trash and make the rivalry fun.
Still can’t believe there wasn’t some sort of ie option on the poll either

Also a scion of St. Joe’s here. I’ve lived all over the 714 and the 909 (though where I’m from is now 951), now if I want to see the Angels I go to a Kernels game, but it’s driving 15 minutes to the 22 that I most fondly recall (and sorely miss).
