Ex-Angel Alex Torres Named Baseball America's #9 Rays Prospect
Doesn't sound like much, but given the Ray's kick-ass system this is quite the endorsement. I'm happy to see him on his way to a productive career.

Everyone whining about losing Sean "AAAA" Rodriguez
And it is the Single-A stud that puts the Ninja on the Kazmir hot seat…
Torres could go a long way in baseball.
Kazmir had better live up to his potential, or else we got hosed.

Interesting
Torres is their #9 prospect, but interestingly enough BA does not show him cracking their line-up as a starter or closer in their 2012 projection. So I guess he’s being projected as a RP?
I'm not sure if he'll remain a starter
He’s definitely undersized, but he’s got good stuff. He could always be that situational lefty in the ‘pen, and that could be the “floor” of his potential. I see him starting in AA this year (I should drive out to Montgomery to see him pitch), but he should see AAA Durham by the end of the year. He’ll be 22 in 2010, and I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t see MLB action by his age 24 season in 2012.
