It's official

If there was any questions looming about the Figgins deal, it's official. Figgins to the mariners. 4 years, $36 million

Makes Figgy look like a legend now

I think Figgins is great

Every evidence he’s a nice guy, and an exciting player to watch.

That said, I think the Mariners will regret the cost and duration of the deal long before it is over. Not in a Richie Sexson sort of way or a Carlos Siva sort of way, but more in an Adrian Beltre sort of way—productive, but not nearly as complete a player as they paid for.

Anti-climatic at this point.

We’ve all known that Figgy has left the building for a few days now. Good luck Figgy, and good luck Seattle with that contract, Figgy’s good, but that 40 million we saved will be better spent elsewhere.

I am still in mourning

Chone Figgins has been my favourite Angel since he came onto the team in 2002. I wish him luck, will miss his smile, rocket arm, clutch hits, fist-tap after a key base hit, and all the SBs.

Bye Desmond. … (so I’ve had to change my signature to reflect the heir apparent at the hot corner …)
