I LOVE Rob Neyer
Love love love.
The man just knows what hes talking about, at all times. His outright love and biased towards the Angels can be a little much at times, but thats why we love him!

Didn't know he was biased toward Angels.
No doubt he’s quality.

Neyer is a hack
One of those Sabremetirc geeks who would be illuminated if he’d actually watch a game every once in a while.
GA GA he's the man, if he can't do it, no one can

whoa watching baseball?
who does that???
Watching the Halos from Princeton University. The random Halo fan in a sea of Bosux and Skankee fans.

hes the worst
all offseason he talked about how we needed a lefty high OBP bat and how we didnt have a DH
We now have a lefty high OBP DH and he decides to write an article about how hes awful defensively.
Neyer hates the Angels because they make his little sabr projections look a little more imperfect than he’d like.

Well, apparently we got a bad deal
because the lefty high OBP DH isnt worth the 5 million we are paying him.
Man I love that guy.
I brought sexy back, but they only gave me store credit....

What I love is Keith Law
saying that our 2008 win-loss according to the simple Pythagorean record was 88-74. Oops. There are lies, damned lies and statistics. Watch an f’ing game fellas!

Keith Law actually likes the Angels
He writes,
“The Angels probably aren’t as good of a team as the average fan looking at last year’s standings would think, but they’re better than a .500 team and right now remain the favorites to win the division.”
Okay, maybe “likes” is too strong of a word.
I was uncool before uncool was cool.

SABR people dont actually like the competitive part of baseball
neyer and baseball prospectus and all them would be much happier if every projection was 100% true 100% of the time and the game was reduced to numbers and probability. They dont like baseball, they like the math. Therefore, the Angels never won 100 games because you can always say they were “supposed” to win 88. Its actually pretty pathetic.

yeah, i love that response
“well, they were the worst 100-win team evurz”
“they shouldn’t have won 100 games, so we shouldn’t count it!”
well guess what, sweetheart…. THEY DID! get the eff over it.
Kotch would've had that.

His Profile ??
Neyer moved to Kansas City in 1976, just in time for the Royals’ first division title, and fell in love almost immediately. He attended the University of Kansas the same four years as Danny Manning, and is now happy to wait another 20 years for the Jayhawks’ next championship.
Did he fall in love with the Royals BECAUSE they won a division or is this that he fell in love with a “significant other” (could be male or female for all I know)?
