Further Proof That Dodger Fans are Thugs
Ripped from the headlines of the OC Fishwrap. Here is the linky: http://www.ocregister.com/articles/fan-dodgers-macdonald-2309812-angels-wearing
Evidently, things started to get a little loco after the Angel Fan made a comment about having to share the bathroom witha Dodger Fan. So what does the Dodger Fan do? What any "nonrmal" person does of course! Disparages the Halos, their fans, and then proceeds to pull out a switchblade and slice the Angel Fan.
Way to go Dodger Fan. Thanks to you, we'll probably be screened at securioty even more before we beat your ass.

Jim Crow laws are no longer in effect… anyone can share the bathroom with anyone else.
The Angel fan was wrong for starting shit, but the Dodger fan went too far with retaliation.
This whole LA rivalry is dumb, IMHO. The Angels really don’t have any rivals, as far as I know. The Red Sox, I don’t like, but they have owned the Angels. So, it is not a rivalry. It is one-sided bitterness on my part.
Hmm
“The Red Sox, I don’t like, but they have owned the Angels.”
Yea in the playoffs but not during the regular season when the the Angels “owned” them winning 8 of 9 games. But the playoffs do matter more than the postseason.
The Angels and Athletics were a rivalry for a while until the A’s fell off the table. However, every game I watch between them a stat pops up on the screen about how even they’ve been against each other the past 5 years. But yea not too many serious rivalries.
P.S. The whole Red Sox organization can burn in Hell.
When stuff like this happens
It makes me sick. Why would someone stab another person over baseball teams.
im gonna say the public school system being a disaster
maybe a tad bit more evident in Dodgerland. People with a good education just dont stab people over baseball.

The funny thing is
As Downing said, most of us don’t consider the Dodgers to be our rivals. But it sucks for that guy. Hope he gets better.
replacement level analysis
We don't consider them that
but ever since we became the better team (for what, almost a decade now?), and ever since Arte began moving the team into the L.A. market, Dodger fans have seemed to be getting increasingly paranoid and insecure about their place in this region.

as they should be
before manny, the dodgers were beyond irrelevant. Sure, everyone’s a die-hard now, but where were they last May and June? The dodgers the last 20 years are no different than the lakers were in 2005 and 2006. If theyre not good, nobody shows up or talks about them or cares.

God
I was really, really hoping that the Clippers (who seemed on the way up a few years ago) were just gonna storm right past the Lakers so I could laugh at them all day.
Oh well. Fuck Memphis for practically giving away another 5+ years of Laker relevance.

"He was wearing a blue Dodgers jacket with blue jeans and has a mustache"
Well, that only narrows it to about three million.
This is the reason
why I will never go back to Doyer stadium.
Give the young guns a chance...if they suck wellll...

It made me rage hardcore.
All the Dodger fans with like THUGLIFE FOREVA avatars saying “Thats what you get when you screw with the blue!”
Ugh, I dont hate the Dodgers, I hate everyone who likes them.
I brought sexy back, but they only gave me store credit....

“He was wearing a blue Dodgers jacket with blue jeans and has a mustache, MacDonald said.”

Kotch would've had that.

You talk bad about azul? I cut you so bad you..you wish I no cut you so bad!
Have you seen Jim Abbot's Glove Switch? Holy crap.
Oh, how I love Dodger and Raider fans
From San Quentin to San Bernardino, Chino state to Chatsworth, and all county jails in between.
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
when the angels and dodgers played this past season
i was at a bar (keep in mind this is out here in philly) wearing my salmon jersey, minding my own business. A dodger fan walks in with al his garb on, and sees me. He walked right over and swung. Luckily i have some big friends, because there was no way i was taking that guy down.
i didnt even say anything to him! fuck the doyers!
i would hope your bigger friends kicked his teeth in
because doyer fans are immune to rationalization. The inability to reason like a fully functional human being is one of the more distinguishing features of the typical doyer fanatic/crip/blood/inmate

I have gone to all 6 Regular season games
For the last two years in a row. All three in LA in ALL RED. My best friend is a life long Dodger fan, and has season tickets, so I go with him to games there pretty often. It has gotten bad there. I have the Dodger Stadium Fan relations hotline programmed into my phone. I guess McCourt just hired an ex Secret Service or CIA guy to head up Stadium Security, so that is promising.
There are plenty of idiots at the Big A, and I think it’s unfair to think that the Angels fan in this story might not have been of similar demographic as the Dodger fan, but there’s certainly a different nature to our thugs/idiots. The Dodger thugs just seem to be there because they want to start a fight, the ball game is completely secondary.
Last year, when I returend to our seats after buying a dog, these cholos were in our seats, I asked them to move after they gave me sh*t for eating a dodger dog, it escalated, big mess, spitting in my face, secruity came… It’s a shame. That place is a Cathedral. An absolute gem as ball parks go…

Hey - I appreciate you being
an Angels fan, but Dodger Stadium is a dump!
Have you been to any other stadiums?
by SocalAngelFaninOC on Feb 18, 2009 7:28 PM PST reply actions
That's silly.
A first of it’s kind, in a beautiful setting with the hills in the background and the Palm tree groves on the ridge in Elysian Park. Probably in the top 3 great views out the back of the stadium in the Bigs.
Yes I’ve been to plenty of other ballparks, many of which have “manufactured” character (PetCo, Citizens Bank, The Big A). Dodger Stadium is classic clean lines, beautiful symetry, excellent sight lines, and is voted every year to have one of the best playing surfaces in the league by the players.
I love Angel Stadium because it’s home, but it’s no Dodger Stadium. Not even close.

My opinion
I liked Dodger stadium when it was the stadium for Angel home games. Now, I don’t care. Palm trees are a dime a dozen (I live on Guam). “classic clean lines” doesn’t even make sense to me. Anything Angels beats anything Dodgers. Of course I’m biased: I’m an Angels fan.
Angel Pitching, Angel Defense - get past that.

Yeah, I suppose I can understand.
I guess I am first and foremost a baseball fan who’s favorite team is the Angels. It’s been that way my whole life. It’s weird actually since my brother, who was the only man around after my dad left when I was three, was a big Dodger fan. I adopted all his favorite teams in the other sports, but was an Angel fan from the word go. Our proximity to the Big A probably helped.
P.S. Clean Classic Lines : I enjoy the beauty in its simplicity and symmetry

Clean Classic Lines revisited
I’m not qualified to critique artistic arguments. Unlike my wife and offspring, I don’t have much talent in that area.
I adopted my Dad’s favorite team (Angels) when I was 5 or 6 when I lived in LA. When the Angels traded Fregosi to the Mets, my Dad changed his favorite team to the Mets. Even though Fregosi was my favorite player, and even though I was only 12, I never even considered changing my team. Not even for a moment.
As always, am looking forward to the new season, and what our boys can accomplish.
Angel Pitching, Angel Defense - get past that.

Clean Classic Lines
Since McCourt change the stadium layout, the clean classic lines are gone.
Angels fan since '67
Doesn't surprise me at all
Though it’s unfair to stereotype all Dodger fans as being thugs, unfortunately there are those Dodger extremist gang members that have taken over Dodger Stadium and have come to symbolize the Dodgers fan base.
In any case, I haven’t been to that cesspool since 2004 and don’t plan on going back there anytime soon since I am sure it has gotten even worse.
You are absolutely correct...
There is an unfortunately a very vocal minority there that makes things tough. But I promise, it’s safe to go back. It would be a shame not to see that place for that long.
Unless you stay at home and watch the games just for the sake of hearing Vin’s Scully’s voice. …

In the interest of journalistic integrity...
I feel that I should complete MidwayCityLivestock’s story about his bad experience at our last Halos/Doyers series in LA. I was right there with him (I’m the friend with Dodger season tickets, and the fat guy in Angels gear sitting with him in his profile picture). I have NEVER hated the Angels. I think the idea of a real rivalry between the two teams is stupid. They don’t play in the same league and have never played against each other in any meaningful game. The “rivalry” is just a revenue generator for McCourt and Moreno.
Anyway, so yes this happened at the no hit win if memory serves me well. We left our seats in the 4th to get hotdogs and a beer. When we returned to our seats some cholo scumbags were in our seats and started to tear into my friend and it was awful. But it didn’t end there. Some of the Dodger fans sitting around us started telling those guys to shut up, and the cholos were getting dirty looks from everybody around us and then the cholos got into it with the people defending my friend. Eventually this girl threw a beer at one of them. These were all Dodger fans keep in mind. This is where it gets stupid.
The people who threw the beer at the cholo got moved and the cholos got to stay. I went ballistic on security for not ejecting the cholos and then we got moved to better seats. I still cannot understand how the cholos did not get ejected, but the point is that the thugs who go just to start sh*t typically don’t last long. The vast majority of fans at Dodger Stadium hate those guys, and for the most part they all get ejected. I hate the fact that this is even an issue at my favorite place on earth. I for one do not think it’s a dump. Also while I have never been threatend at the Big A while wearing Dodger gear I have had some pretty bad things screamed at me by HB brahs wearing all black Angel hats and Affliction shirts. I don’t think Angel stadium is a dump either. I like Angel Stadium. Hopefully the new security team at Dodger Stadium really clamps down on the thugs and we get it back to the way it used to be.
Good to read
As a Cub fan, I haven’t been to Dodger stadium in several years. After my wife was shoved around in the women’s restroom and I was punched in the gut by a displaced raiders fan as I was standing in a concession line we vowed never to go back. Security didn’t care, no one cared that day. Hell, I went to my favorite bar last fall to watch Dodgers/Cubs playoffs and had a beer thrown at me as soon as I walked in. Luckily, the nine foot tall bouncer, who knows me, saw it and emptied the entire section it came from.

As a Doyer fan, I admit
that Doyer fans can get a little crazy, especially in the OF pavilion. But sports fans in general are ridiculous, not just certain fanbases. This shit probably goes on everywhere, unfortunately.

Don't call Dodger fans thugs
It just empowers the most worthless among them, as this is the moniker they want most of all, and disrespects the few of them that deserve more than so.
Granted, I’d like to see a better representation of Dodger fans who have some serious National League pride and know the history of the franchise, but in general all I’ve been seeing lately are joiners who embed their pride in their armband – or hat – and have no idea who is on the team besides Manny (shhh! – don’t tell them he’s not resigned yet.)
The Dodger franchise deserves better than what the southland has provided. I’m willing to say this, as a Halo fan for life. Most Doyer fans I encounter feed off of stories like these. So we shouldn’t be spreading them and dwelling on them.
