Angels Spring Training Victory 12-3
Final in Tempe: Angels 12, Chicago White Sox 3
THE GOOD: King Conger 2-3, 3 RBI
THE BAD: Brandon Wood 0 for 2
THE UGLY: AJ Pierzynski 2 for 3, 2 RBI
But was the highlight Freddy Sandoval going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI, Jose Arredondo striking out 2 in 1 IP or Rich Thompson pitching 2 hitless frames?

Both to the warning track... Couldn't tell about the second one, it sounded like it was a great defensive play.

Conger did it three AB's
whats wrong with Wood?
by BryanHarvey'sMoustache on Feb 26, 2009 3:40 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
well hit both
MLB network had highlights and showed both AB’s. First one Dye crashed against the fence and caught it. Second one was to dead center and the CF appeared to pull it back. If it wasn’t over it was damm close to it!

Kotch would've had that.

0 for 2
I’ll take 0-2 if it’s not 0- 2, 2K’s

420+ feet...
I’ll take a couple of those from Wood every game. Not all yards are built the same

? Where did you get that number?
Not disputing you. Just been out with clients all day and just now checking in.

CF wall
Wood flew out to dead center, with CF making a leaping catch at the wall. Dead center is 420 feet, so it was hit about that, but not more.

Ummm...
I got the 420 number from Terry as he made the call, and correct me if I’m wrong but if the base of the wall is 420 feet from home plate, and the CF leaped to make the catch, than the ball was most definately hit more than 420 feet.
I’m not a math guy by any means though.

i think there were other players worse than Wood
he many have gone 0-2, but as people said, both balls were hit extremely hard and caught at the wall. in Anaheim, he probably goes 2-2 with 2 HRs.
how about Morales going 0-3?
Kotch would've had that.

i really dont want people to get in the habit of freaking out over these games
maybe in a month we can draw SOME sort of conclusion but 2-3 ABs is just borderline ridiculous

yup hitting the ball hard and getting out..........is 1000000% better than 0-2 with 2K

um.. yes?
we all know bwood has trouble with K’s, so its alot nicer to see him hit outs at the wall than it is to see him K..

Off Topic
But not worth it’s own post: I had lunch at Roscoe’s today. The barmaid doesn’t think that Rex Hudler will be back this summer. Seems that whatever beer sponsored the show (or remote) was bought out (Coors??) and the cost of each of Rex’s visits is $3,000 – so it all seems unlikely.
Sad. My work schedule prevented me from catching the show and hopping on the train last year, but I could have worked it out this season. Bummer.

I like the Good, Bad and Ugly feature.
Could that be an ongoing part of the outcome Posts, or is that too much to ask? Also: how fitting that the first “ugly” was awarded to Arrogant Jerk-off.
Apologies in advance.

Why is Brandon Wood getting robbed by two great catches the bad?
It’s not like he struck or grounded out twice…
