Donkeytime
Brendan enjoys sweating more than any pitcher this side of Esteban yan so he should really dig Arlington in August.

Mixed feelings
I’m not sure what to think of Brendan Donnelly. He gave the Angels some good years, and was an important piece on the World Series team. Apparently he pitched 7 2/3 shutout innings in the series, got the win in Game 6, and even relieved John Lackey for two innings in Game 7. Still, there was always something suspicious about him: aging AAA-lifer suddenly becomes a dominant back-end reliever. He would have been the perfect candidate to use the juice to try to push over the top. I just couldn’t bring myself to love him. He always looked like Mr. Anger Man out there on the mound, and there was his petty feud with Jose Guillen, the pine tar incident, Mitchell Report etc.
I guess this means his career is just about over. Texas is the kind of place where old pitchers go to die. I’d be interested to hear what others think about his Angel “legacy.”

I don't know about juicer.
Donnely had a problem breaking into the majors because he crossed the line in ’94/95.
Angels fan since '67

Not that the Mitchell Report is the greatest piece of detective work ever published, but Donnelly was named in it on pages 224-225. It’s a plausible story; the prime ‘roid abusers weren’t necessarily superstars, but the Matt Lawtons of the world desperate for an edge. Oh, and Alex Rodriguez.

It mentions Adam Riggs
That guy was so bulked up it was completely obvious he was on roids. Didn’t surprise me when I heard that he had referred about some Angels to a guy selling performance enhancers. Apparently, he referred Glaus to the guy which leads to rumors of him referring other Angels in that time period (‘03 and ’04). I also came across an article (link below) that says sixteen Angels were on the Mitchell Report. SIXTEEN. Some of them playing during the ’03-’04 seasons. I also came across his wikipedia page (yea he has one), that says that he has NOT tested positive for illegal substances. Hmmm….

Legacy
Brendan Donnelly is the 59th Most Important Angel of All Time and frankly, were Al Levine to have pitched in his palce in the 2002 postseason, I don’t really see a ring.

anyone on the 2002 team gets my love
I’ll root for them so long as they aren’t up against the Angels.
Driven into right-center field, Erstad says he has it...the Angels, world champions!

Congrats to Donkey, I wish him well.
It’s gonna be strange, maybe even a little funny, to watch him trot in from the pen, take a few warm up pitches, and then plant the first pitch squarely into one of our player’s backs!
The guy never backed down from anybody. I always loved him for that. Now we’re the enemy!
Bring it Donkey!
