WBC Update
On the subject of the World Baseball Classic, today's game of Netherlands was absolutely epic. Ubaldo Jimenez strikes out ten, Pedro is solid, and a bunch of unknowns beat a powerhouse. If you watched today's game you witnessed something that happens once in a blue moon. The Netherlands gave up no earned runs and one of the most overrated closers blew a big one. This competition deserves more publicity because this is pretty impressive stuff.

Netherlands-2 Dominican Republic-0
It was on MLB channel
and it was a great game. HUGE upset. I can’t believe it is getting no press on Inet sites – espn, si, foxsports, etc…
Outfielders For Sale! This weeks special...GMJ - see Tony for details!
From the outhouse to the penthouse...
…the guy that blew the play for the Netherlands in the top of the 11th redeems himself with the game-tying RBI, then scores the winning run. Nice.
If The Netherlands wins the whole thing, do they celebrate with champagne or Curacao?
and we have an angel on the mound

Vlad The Impailer Strikes Again!!!
VIVA ORANJE!
Next to the 2002 series, the upset of the DR was one of the greatest sports moments of my life
Have you seen Jim Abbot's Glove Switch? Holy crap.
I'm not that interested.
I don’t think it’s as compelling as other international competitions. No offense to anyone who is truly moved by the loss of the Dominican team. I think they are already moving on from the loss.
It’s nice to see the underdog win.
since 1961
I turned the game on in the top of the 11th
and I agree – that was epic baseball. I replayed that half of the inning like 4 times. Very cool.
Did anyone see that killer flip the 2B for Cuba made to the SS for the out at first? Really flashy play just executed beautifully.
I heard they worked on that play in infield practice before the game....
They had to have, the SS was moving towards 1st in anticipation of the flip. It was so sick!
What in the wide wide world of sports is a goin on here?
