Lackey, "negotiations are very slow"
John Lackey (stud and ace) has put an Opening Day deadline on this. I think if Tony doesnt get it done by opening day we may loose him to the free angency. Is anybody really sure that we will sign him.?
I dont feel to comfortable with this and John looks like the type to sign with Boston or both NY teams.

I wish I hadn't read that article.
I didn’t get a great feeling from a lot of what he said.
On an unrelated note, is it just me or when Big Thunder talks does his voice remind you of Kermit the Frog?

Not sure Lackey should have been that candid
but I can’t fault anything he said

Im so on board for Lack staying here forever......infact I'd buy 10 jerseys of his to help ensure he stays.....
but if he wants more money than the Halos are offering……..then I wont blame him for leaving…..he’s been a good solider…..

ambivalent feelings on this
it would be great if Lackey continued his career with the Halos, but ever since he made that comment expressing his frustrations over the Angels offense during the playoffs I haven’t had a good feeling about him resigning.

economy
who knows how the economy is going to shake out in 09? is it going to recover by 2010? there’s only soo much money out there that the Angels can spend on the team. what if the economy gets worse?

My one comment:
Lackey seems to tire, noticably, late in the season.

My second one comment:
If Escobar recovers from his surgery in good fashion in 2009, I believe he could be re-signed on a one, two, or three year deal for considerably less money than Lackey.

No doubt.

My buddy cornered Reagins at the second ST game...
and Tony said those exact words. “John wants to test the FA market.”
