Single Awesomest Insider Baseball Blog Ever
Rich Thompson's wife dishes more gossip about the inner workings of the Angels team culture at her blog linked above than I have ever seen published anywhere.

I hope
That eventually Rich gets a legit chance with the Angels. His minor league numbers say he has a chance at least IMHO. Unfortunately for him, the Angels are all about depth and they only have room for like 2 guys on their pitching staff that haven’t fully established themselves. If Bad Speier shows up I really hope Bulger and Thompson get chances. I’m assuming of course that Jepsen makes the team out of ST.
Also I think that blog wasn’t really meant for the public, but only really her friends. Why would someone basically tell of the players’ wives in a blog but if she said it to them in person she’d be blacklisted? Well chances are if I’m seeing it then I think they can too.
I felt the same way...
it was almost too intimate of a conversation; although I really enjoyed reading it – especially her frankness. I don’t think her blog (as it exists) will last very long after she finds out how far the readership has expanded starting today!
Good find, Rev. How did you discover this?

Interesting inside stuff
I like her sentiment particularly the anti-big house, big car bit.
Angels in 09!
It is easy to say you are “anti-big house, anti-big car” especially when you are scraping by on a few “cups of coffee” trips to the bigs. Start yanking down some John Lackey or Torii Hunter ca$hi$h and she might become one of those complaining about child care costs.

I dunno.
The purpose of a blog on the internet is to be read, after all. I do wonder if someone from the site should post a comment and tell her why her daily page views are about to go way up though. It also might be interesting to get her take on internet fans.

I don’t see this blog staying up either…but its fascinating while it lasts. Sometimes we forget about these guys as human beings…which is odd, because we’ll break down a guys windup mechanics but never think if his kid’s flu is affecting his concentration.
We’ll have to congratulate Reggie Willitts on having “the nicest big league wife”
Netherlands-2 Dominican Republic-0
nor do we think about them switching out their “Dell” for a “Mac.” Comedy.

Shouldn't come as too big a surprise. I seem to remember a sportscenter segment on Reggie
and how he had a batting cage right next to his bedroom. If your wife will let you build something like that, you KNOW she’s a great person.
Plugging the upside since 2006.
Never give up, never surrender!
They probably mentioned it all three places.
I definitely remember seeing the batting cage on TV at one point though.

I'm sure there are already producers pitching "Real Housewives of MLB" to Bravo as we speak

She's good ... she's real good.
Too bad one of those beetches that she mentions wasn’t Teixeira’s whip master.
She's obviously a very good writer.
……….knows how to put her thoughts on paper as if she were speaking directly to you.
Excerpt from her first post
However, do not think that this site is strictly for fans, it will also update everyone on what’s going on in our lives, inside and outside of baseball. Beware that there may be a few times when I rant and rave about being bored, frustrated, tired, or whatever… but hopefully it at least makes you laugh (and/or think).
Her blog is a great insider resource as you stated, but she is pretty naive if she’s assuming that this stuff won’t come back to bite Rich in the ass.
agree with some of that
Public blogging can be too twisted. I’m not so sure it’ll bite Rich in the ass so much as bite her.

You're probably right.
Her blog is fun to read and she seems like a cool chick, but she should exercise caution. Just saying.
Awesome find Rev Halofan
You should recruit her as an editor for Halos Heaven.
Stay tuned…
Recipient of the 2008 "The Iron Man" award from scottnak of Halos Heaven!
I think the OC Register is probably recruiting her...
to take over Jeff Miller’s soon-to-be-vacant spot.

Imitation
I see the same posts on another website a few hours before they go up here. I think to myself, how did Rev find this, or come up with that idea…?
Seriously though, she seems cool — and cute. Hopefully, WiHaloFan is preparing a Live Chat with Ashley!
FTW!!!
Great idea ’tosis. Be sure to freshen up that breath prior to the conversation, though! ;)

She doesn't need an account to post.
And I don’t know what she’s done to deserve a ‘goofy’ moniker. 0_o

Er, she doesn't need an account to read.

Nothing goofy, it is just that Quinlan’s Goofy Swing is one of my favorite handles floating around this place. Wish I had thought of it first! ;)

if she's reading, here's a suggestion:
please change the background color to a lighter color or something. That thing is fascinating as all hell but VERY difficult to read.
