Broken Halo

A new clothing line is based on the name change from Anaheim to LA of Anaheim.  The hat and t-shirt were priced pretty high here.

Here are some of the other styles coming this summer.

http://www.highsnobiety.com/news/?s=halos

I like the fact that someone took the name change to heart enough to start a clothing line, but im not sure of the motivation behind it. It was also stated on one of the links that the owner of Broken Halo will be explaining the whole story about the name changing Halos in promoting the threads. I really dont know what to think of it.

Those look like hats that people who hate our team would wear

Seriously, that broken halo design is a slap. That is even beneath the “We Are Not L.A.” pantshitters.

And the “ART” on that site makes Shep Fairy look original. Niagra, Ed Colver and the Mapplethope estate could sue for copyright in front of a blind jury and win.

Im not gonna lie

I hope I never see someone wearing that hat or shirt…

Looks like the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet, "Delta."

Maybe some sorority can pick them up when they go to closeout.

Do I really want to pay 50 bones for that?

When I can take it to the stadium, see a game, get an authentic cap, and not look like a dickbag for about the same price point?

If GA wasn't so Lazy, I'd have something clever here.

Broken Halo

Is also the name of an IPA that Widmer Bros brews. I’m not a big fan of IPAs. I like my beer malty. This has nothing whatsoever to do with clothing. But I like to discuss beer.

ladybug is a HUGE IPA fan...

Her hubby brews his own. Watch for her in game threads…

LOL

I’m not much of a beer conniseour, afficianado drinker, but talking beer is far better than looking at that s**t above.

I love that beer. I am a big IPA fan.

Ladybug – I’ll make the next HH get-together at the stadium and we’ll get an IPA before and/or after the game…

Don't get me wrong

I’ll drink good IPAs. I just usually would prefer a good Witbier or Hefeweizen. Especially in the summer or at a baseball game. They pair better with lighter food.

IPAs that are hopped to extremes, just to see what the brewer can get away with, don’t usually appeal to me. Kind of like massive “fruit-bomb” wines — good for getting drunk, not so much for enjoying on an everyday basis.

Lost Coast's Great White.

As far as I’m concerned, there is no other Beer that shall be drank on game day.

You ever drink Summit?

Great brewery out of the Twin Cities. Summit Mybach is my personal favorite.

by NoDakHalo on Mar 31, 2009 3:59 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Haven't tried it

Is it available in SoCal? Rogue Dead Guy is a pretty good Maibock, though again a bit heavy for my usual summer drinking fare. I like to drink bock, doppelbock, porters, stouts, and similar heavier beer during cooler weather. Though they pair well with food like short ribs, which is tasty any time of year.

People still care about the name change that much?

It’s probably the least significant thing to happen in my life, except maybe when that Angelina Jolie impersonator squeezed 8 bay-bees out her hoo-hah.

I’ll admit whenever I hear or see “Los Angeles Angels” I still flinch a bit. its a reflex. I’ll never like it, but I’m past really giving a crap.

What did you do, then, when the franchise was originally named?

You must’ve been flinching for a few years until they moved into Anaheim Stadium under the NEW NAME “California Angels.”

Just checking.

I wasn’t born yet, either, but I never flinch. I was not happy that the name changed from California to Anaheim; as such, I welcomed the change to LA.

Note that there was no noise made (as far as I know) when the California to Anaheim change was made; I wonder why, maybe … nobody cared?

becasue there were NOT blogs then

and the Angels had a their lowest of low profiles.

The color on the hat is stupid.

When have the Angels ever had that shade of blue.

And IPAs rock. Double IPAs rock twice as much, especially Souther Tier’s Unearthly IPA and its 11% ABV. And the new Torpedo Extra IPA from Sierra Nevada is delicious.

About the stupidest idea I've seen in a week

…then again, since the team I fell in love with as a kid was the Los Angeles Angels, I don’t have a problem with their current name. The level of whining in Anaheim in general and OC in particular over the name change is one of the more embarrassing episodes in local history. The team draws as many fan from Riverside Co and SB Co as from OC—it isn’t as if the #1 fanbase consisted of residents from Anaheim.

That site should change its name from high Snobiety to Douchebag.com. Its like an HQ for the kind of people who show up in the 3rd inning and spend the whole game on their fucking Blackberry.

Indeed gdog. If anyone is broken on the team it's HGH

I really hope someone picks him up before the season starts. I could go for less OF drama this year now that lazy eye is no longer with us.
