Tim Brown: Vlad is a Year Older than Listed

A slip of the tongue by Vladdy today led to the revelation that he is a year older than previously believed!

Must be tough competition in the DR if you have to lie about your age. As of today, Vladimir Guerrero is 34, when a few hours ago, we thought he was merely 33.

Funny snippet:
The club said it was aware of Guerrero’s actual birth date and after Friday’s development a team official said this year’s media guide would reflect the correct date.

So, a simple change in the media guide is in order... move along, there's nothing to see here.

Though really, I don’t think it matters that much, Vlad still being Vlad. It does explain why he seemed to be declining a bit earlier than expected…27 HR and 91 RBI in 2008 is still pretty good for a 33 y/o, no?

Rumors? Bar-room info? Chance, offhand talk? Who knows? Sources are everywhere.

But just think of the culture of fraud with Dominican players. You know it is not outside the realm of possibility, or even likelihood.

I would say 36 is not an unrealistic number, but don’t quote me on it.

LOL— If you really think he is 35-36 or whatever,that is fine… To me the age doesn’t matter as long as the production is there.No I am not Vlads mother,but you could say I have a man crush on him.. I also like Santana,but Vlad I think should maybe cut the hair,he looks like a Predator (from the movie)..In all honesty,I don’t think he is older then 34,but again maybe I am wrong…
