Moseley, Loux, and Adenhart competing for 2 spots now…that can’t be good!
Worked out well for us last season with Colonel and Magic…prob asking too much for lightning to strike twice eh?! :(
Get well soon Ervin!

The Good News remains thus...
Kelvim Escobar increased his bullpen workout from 35 to 45 pitches, all fastballs, on Saturday. The right-hander, who is well ahead of schedule in his recovery from shoulder surgery, will probably begin throwing breaking balls later this week.
“I feel great, this is very exciting, I never thought I’d be in this position at this point,” Escobar said.
“But at the same time, I’m trying to be smart. I’m doing what they tell me. I’m not going to push myself trying to overthrow and test my arm.”
Escobar, who missed all of 2008 after going 18-7 with a 3.40 ERA in 2007, was not expected back until the All-Star break, but he appears on course to return by May.
He suffered a left calf strain in late February and is experiencing a little tightness in his lower back, but his shoulder feels fine.
“As soon as you change your angle throwing off the mound, it’s normal to feel some tightness in your back,” Escobar said.
“But my shoulder feels strong. I feel normal. If everything continues to go well, I’m going to surprise a lot of people this year.”

So, now that Ervin and A-Rod are both on the DL,
And the only Yankee 3B backup is 33 yr old Cody Ransom, what are the chances the Figgins-trade-rumor-possibility will get reconstituted?

Unless there's a trade, I think it's almost a given
that Moseley and Loux will pitch #4 and #5, due to their being out of options………with Adenhart in AAA.
A trade would change everything.
Of course, Weaver’s shoulder may not loosen up in time for the start of the season either.

Wouldn’t that suck, having 3 out of 5 starters down…better start congratulating your 2009 AL West Champion Seattle Mariners, ladies and gentlemen!

i dont think anythings a given
theyre going to put the best pitcher out there. If adenhart out-pitches loux for the next 3 weeks, i dont think tony and mike will care whether or not loux has an option

Areed. EVERY team will have injuries..it's just a part of the game.
This is why our depth is so important.
I really doubt team management will try to sigh any other pitchers. I expect to see opportunities for Moseley, and Loux, with additional options of Adenhart, and Jepsen if Moseley and/or Loux falter. Who knows…maybe Walden will get a chance.
