Dallas McPherson -- Released
Looks like McPherson never panned out for the Marlins. When we finally do take a chance on Wood, will he be more like Glaus or more like McPherson?

I feel badly for the guy
He’s a kid who never pouted or demanded anything. When he was cut by the Angels he was professional and even gracious.
Last season, he led the minors in HR, but just didn’t have a good enough Spring to warrant a bench role, and was out of options. I hope he finds a good fit, and soon.

Third time's a charm
you bet Oakland is regretting that Nomah signing?

Dallas might still be around mid April when Nomah gets hurt

If I were a GM I would consider him
He has some outstanding offensive talent, it’s really too bad how much crap he’s dealt with. When he was with the Angels, I loved his power. I remember when he hit one or two homers into the bullpen in left, not too many left handers have done that at Angel Stadium(that I’ve noticed).
If the Angels had room for him, which they don’t, I would approve of them bringing him back on a small contract. Some day he’ll have his time to shine.

And that day will come
when he is inducted into the inaugural class of the Minor League Baseball Hall of Fame.
I do feel bad for the guy, though. I remember always being so excited about him being apart of the team.

we should just pick him back up as insurance to kendry getting hurt
he’ll want playing time though.
didnt the giants want him? or maybe the astros or someone like that.
teams need to start thinking of mcpherson as a power threat off the bench instead of an everyday player

The Giants are going with a rookie 3B
Pablo Sandoval, who is a switch-hitter showing a .657 SLG this Spring. Sure, you can’t base an entire season on that, but he has won the job and with Rich Aurelia and Jose Uribe backing him up, there isn’t a spot for backup.

I saw his name connected to...
the Yankees. It makes sense, to have a guy like that come off the bench for A-Rod… especially right now. If they sign him to a minor league deal he could be their version of our Brandon Wood.

That makes sense...
hope it happens and he lights it up.
I have an irrational love for D-Mac. I have never seen anyone hit the ball as hard as him – when he hit it.
I remember a HR to center in Arlington that was absolutely CRUSHED. I just liked watching him hit, even with the K’s.

Same here.....I hope he kills the ball and earns a major league job with the team that signs him.
I too like watching his at bats.
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought DMAC was hurt...
strained oblique. It hampered his ST playing time.
