This will be the last ST post.
This one is mostly in response to George Kalpan’s post today. These are for you...
All of these photos were taken on Saturday, 3/21/09 at Angels Mesa facility.
Here are a couple of pics looking from the main entrance (west)...
…and then northwest. In this photo, you can see part of "the gauntlet" in the background.
Posted line-ups. Not the most professional, but it works…
Full house! This pic was taking from main corridor down 1B line looking back toward main entrance, about 10 minutes before game time.
Views from inside the stadium…
View from behind home plate of the coaching staff.
Adenhart warming up between innings. What a sweet wind-up.
That's it for this spring. Let's hope for a great season for both the Halos and for Halos Heaven!!

Thanks!
I think George Kaplan wrote on another post that Adenhart has managed the "deer in headlights " reaction of last year. He’s looked like a decent pitcher in ST….and he’s only 23.
BTW, you were kind enough to outright give me tix to a game last year. We have bought in on a few games this year, and I believe we are supposed to get them tomorrow or Saturday. I will e-mail you with dates so you can pick a game…time to return the favor.
Awesome!
Thanks for all these updates/pics! :)

Thanks so much
I remember when I was a VERY young lad, I went to the top of San Gorgonio (or is that San Jacinto?) on the Palm Springs tramway. From the top, I could see the Palm Springs training center for the LA Angels. It was something I had read about in the newspaper, but had never seen; even though a coin-op telescope for a minute or so of time, it was very exciting.
However, I have seen games in the Mesa site in past years, and those photos bring back plenty of other memories for me as well. I am deeply appreciative of your sharing these. pictures.
It was Mt San Jacinto. Good memory!
My parents would take us to Palm Springs once a year in March for Angels ST. The earliest I remember going was ’68’or ‘69. In those "early " years there were lots of billboards advertising a ride on the tram and dinner at the top of the tram for $4.95. My brothers & I bugged my parents to go…the first couple of years the answer was no, but they finally relented.
So – the year must have been ’71 or ’72 – we watched an Angel ST game, and then took the tram to the top for dinner. One little problem…we didn’t realize the temperature would be about 40 degrees colder…with the wind blowing. We were dressed in typical Palm Springs clothing -shorts, T-shirts, and flip-flops. We about froze to death…and we weren’t the only ones. There were a couple of other families learning the same lesson.
We took the journey again for the next 3-4 years, always including a Saturday night dinner at the top of the tram lodge. And yes, we had long pants, boots and winter jackets! And each year, we’d see another family or 2 that had made the same mistake…
My grandparents
lived in Palm Springs, and for some reason, when we visited, my Dad never took me to ST :-(
Angels fan since '67
Back "in the day", the Angels has an A team in PS that played at the stadium.
I think the team had long since moved on…do you know if the stadium is still in use?
It wasn’t as nice as current facilities, but it was still an enjoyable little stadium.
Palm Springs Stadium
This beautiful retro little stadium is greatly in use thanks to a brilliant young entrepreneur named Andrew Starke. He has a summer league team that uses the stadium by the name of Palm Springs Power (check them out at www.palmspringspowerbaseball.com ) and then the stadium is use in the winter by the Palm Springs Chill baseball team. It is a blast to visit and they do a wonderful professional job there. Gabe Jacobo, an angel minor leaguer, played one of his summers there.
You get what you get and you don't throw a fit!
great pics....I wanted to go this year but couldn't
so thanks for letting me still ‘be there’

I was about 2 sections closer to home plate
Assuming that those crowd photos were taken near your seat. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like you managed to catch me or my son in the photos.
We were in aisle 16, row D...at the outfield edge of the Angels dugout, 4 rows back...
…although we didn’t spend a lot of time in our seats. Too hot!
We walked around a lot (me taking pics)…
great work!
i too missed this years ST. it was great to feel as if i was there. any thoughts on photographing your journeys at angels stadium this year?
There is an "Angel in the outfield" and his name is GA! ps. he is lazy but not a bum GO HALOS!
Thanks for the acknowledgement!
I will take the camera to Angel games this year, and hopefully make some similar posts.
Mrs. Sothball and I are actually more excited about a June trip to Chicago and Milwaukee. We have really wanted to visit Wrigley.
While in Chicago, we will also attend a game at US Cellular Field, and then on up to Milwaukee for a Brewers game. I am really looking forward to that trip!!!
For our out of town fellow fans, I expect these after every home game.
The price of success, and all that…
