Harry Kalas dead at 73
Harry Kalas died this morning while preparing for the game against the Nats this afternoon.
He was found on the floor in the broadcast booth, and taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
This is a terrible loss for all Phillies fans, and he will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to them, and the Kalas family. He was a Hall of Fame voice, and the NFL will greatly miss him as well.
RIP.

Shit
Tremendous voice, talent and a great in broadcasting. It’s excellent that he was able to witness his Phillies win the World Series.

I grew up listening to him. When I was younger I could do a spot on Kalas, “6-4-3 double play to end the inning. No hits, runs or errors. We head to the bottom of the 3rd.”

Damn, what a loss
Nothing quite like Harry’s voice for NFL films. It always brings chills down my spine. He will be greatly missed. Best wishes to his family.
34 will always hang with Angels

May he rest in peace.
And I’m really glad now that the Phillies pulled it off last year.

Knew him more for his NFL work then his Phillies work
but, man, I could listen to him talk about football all day long. Is there anybody out there now who will have an iconic voice like that in the future? Not likely. He will be missed.
Captain, there are doubt's...

What a week.....
This sucks, I loved watching NFL films and inside the NFL becuase of his cool voice. He was to Phils fans what Chick Hearn was to the Lakers. ESPN replayed his call of Mike Schmidts 500th homer, it was awesome, gave me chills. RIP Harry

I've been listening to the Phillies Radio Broadcast...
It’s really depressing. This is a high scoring game, with several home runs… and all the announcers can do is explain what is happening in the game without any emotion or excitement. “Howard hits the ball out to center. It’s a homerun.” They’re not in the game at all, and it seems wrong that they have to be up there doing this now. And they’re basically having a group therapy session between pitches as they share their memories of working with Kalas.
