I've given up hope.

I doubt Loux will pitch a CG, so we’ve got the Arson Squad.

I like your thinking.

Both o’ you!

Let's do this for Nick Adenhart, Courtney Stewart, and Henry Pearson.

stupidly, in the form I chose “MORE” for the Halos hits. As you can see here, it is not more, but instead 23 hits.

I wouldn’t have noticed. MORE just tells me to look at the comments. :P

the only way we’re going to win, unless Loux goes the distance, is by scoring a lot of runs.

by neochoa on Apr 18, 2009 9:41 PM PDT reply actions

No goat. Just Bad juju.

Things will improve with pitching. Bad juju right now. However, as long as Rivera keeps pushing his ass away from the pate when he swings, the weak grounder will keep piling up. Come on Hatcher! You fixed Napoli’s head, fix Rivera’s ass!!

by deepmantone on Apr 18, 2009 9:54 PM PDT reply actions

Isn't Rivera one bright spot on offense?

He’s 7 for his last 16 AB’s and is batting .314 on the season.

RIP Nick Adenhart - Angel fans will never forget you!

Angels 10, Twins, 5

Angels bats are in it to win it with 12 hits, and while the twins rack of nine hits, some luck falls the Angel’s way and they prevent the big inning.

Let's do this for Nick Adenhart, Courtney Stewart, and Henry Pearson.

We need the offense to step up.

With all the pitching injuries to cope with the team needs to step it up considerably at the dish. And it hasn’t been happening.

I’ve been hoping that all my concerns over the offseason would wash away once things got going, and that everyone here that told me how much better we are going to be offensively this year would be saying i told you so. I know we’ve only played 11 games and it’s a smallish sample size, but so far we’re:

11th in the AL in Runs Scored. That is not good.
12th in the AL in Total Bases.
10th in the AL in Hits (Tie)
12th in the AL in Runs Batted In. Jesus.

And so on.

And I won’t even look at the power numbers.

We have to step up until the horses come back to the staff. Then we’ll be okay, because we’ll be in a million low scoring games that are more winnable for us. But until then we need guys to hit the damn ball.

I’m happy about Hunter; he appears to be off to a nice start, and perhaps we’ll see more power from him this year. Abreu is fine, but he obviously has lost any power that he once had, he’s a singles hitter at this point and that’s it. Rivera will be fine, and I have little doubt he’ll end the season if healthy with more knocks than any of these guys.

Everyone else needs to man up. Napoli had one good game. Kendrick could wake up and I’d be happy. For a hitter that’s supposed to hit for average he K’s WAY TOO MUCH. Erick Aybar is taking up the spot where we should probably be playing Brandon Wood. These guys need to wake up and get it going. I’m sure that Big John, Ervin, and Kelvim are busting their asses to get back to the rotation, and until then let’s score some runs for these temp kids trying their hardest.

Go Halos!!
