Moseley on 15 day DL. Thompson & Davidson called up.
This from the LA Times Angels blog "Angels Unplugged":
The Angels placed pitcher Dustin Moseley on the 15-day disabled list today because of tightness in his throwing elbow, a condition that flared up Friday night, when the right-hander was pulled after three innings of his start against the Twins.
To replace Moseley and Vladimir Guerrero, who went on the DL because of a right pectoral tear on Friday, the Angels recalled reliever Rich Thompson and left-handed starter Daniel Davidson from triple-A Salt Lake.
We all know Rich via his wife Ashley's blog "Everyday Life". While Rich struggled in Spring training, its not like h can do any worse in the bigs than anyone else the bullpen.
As for Davidson, I couldnt find his Spring stats. So far for the Bees he has pitched 3 1/3 innings of relief and given up NO runs and struck out FOUR. Promising numbers even if their small.
While we do need more pitching, I can't help but agree with many that we should bring up Brandon Wood. Even if its to platoon him and Izzy (or Naps) at DH. We lost a bunch of power with Vlad being out and it seems like you would want to supplement that with some more good Wood.

cant believe they havent brought up Wood
apparently gary matthews playing everyday is better for the future of this franchise?
get a clue guys, Wood needs to be ready in 2010. He wont be unless you let him play.
RIP Nick Adenhart
but only if he is playing everyday in the majors...
let’s not do what we did last season where he sits and rots!
Miss you Nick...! RIP
even more
fangraphs says he should be a little below average, but i will definitely take that at the moment
That'll only happen if that one prospect is the second coming of Christ and redemption for mankind can only be achieved by smacking many balls out of the yard.

Don't get me wrong
I think with all the pitching injuries more depth is absolutely needed and I’ve got
faith that these guys will do well. However this is a great chance to get Wood some
AB’s, just don’t understand not bringing him up.
The Davidson call up is to cover the next two games
I suspect prior to the start of the Tuesday homestand, Davidson will be sent down and Wood will be called up.
Anyone notice the Angels website changed FAN STRONG to...
replace the O with the Nick Adenhart memorial 34 patch (see my avatar)? Pretty cool! Now if they would only start selling the patches to the rest of us…
Miss you Nick...! RIP
Unprecedented?
I was wondering if the # of Angel injuries to the starting rotation are unprecedented. All 5 starters missing time in the first month of the season?
I agree with everyone else…. No more Matthews in the starting lineup.
BRING UP WOOD!
Light up the Freakin Halo!
Hokie Joe and WTY aren't on the DL yet.
That said, 5 starters are either dead or on the DL.

if he can be up to speed in about a week, the Angels need to be on this. For only like 800k-1 M we could likely get this done.

Thompson is chopper right? ...
so I guess they called up Harley Davidson.
RIP Nick Adenhart - Angel fans will never forget you!
Extra compared to AAA and/or AA minimum? Yes.
Minor league contracts are negotiated player to player. Generally it’s a lot less than MLB minimum. I believe the MLB minimum this year is 400,000.00/year. So I believe they get the equivalent of that based on time up with MLB team (if up for 1 month they get $33,000 or so). And yes, this generally a much higher “extra” amount of compensation.
Travel and meals are much better too.
