Snippet, so that we don't think it is a car accident or something ...
The rookie right-hander is having actual pain, lower-back tightness that may have contributed to a rough road trip, in which the 24-year-old has allowed seven earned runs, four hits and five walks in two appearances.
“It was a little sore during the home stand, but on the first day in Seattle, in that cold weather, it locked up on me during batting practice,” Jepsen said. “I just can’t seem to get it fully loosened up, which is not allowing me to follow through and keep my pitches consistently in the strike zone.”
Jepsen has been taking muscle relaxants in an effort to ease his back spasms and is receiving treatment. He wasn’t sure today whether he would need to go on the disabled list, but he will probably be unavailable for a couple of days.

i was actually suspecting something was wrong
he was not nearly this bad last year. He won a medal with the olympic team as the closer and stuff.
Last year he struck in 7.5 batters/9 innings (in 8 innings). This year its 1.9 (career minors 8.3).
He does need to work a whole lot on his control though
That'll only happen if that one prospect is the second coming of Christ and redemption for mankind can only be achieved by smacking many balls out of the yard.
