I’m not used to reading the annual “Shields’ recent meltdowns due to mechanical flaw in delivery” article(s) this early in the season. With all of the youngsters shitting the bed of late, he is the one that needs to step up most and take the pressure off the AAA gang.
It was also interesting to see Jordan Walden’s name bandied about in the mix for the empty spot in the rotation.

Nothing this season
Has been as alarming as Shields command or lack thereof, and confidence on the mound. Lately he has become a liability out of the pen on par with Speier. Never thought I’d see that.
