Angels' Reagins begins looking outside for pitching help - Los Angeles Times
Angels General Manager Tony Reagins acknowledged today that he is looking outside the organization for pitching help and has contacted the representatives for free-agent starters such as Pedro Martinez, Paul Byrd and Mark Mulder.
But the signing of any of the available veterans to bolster an injury-ravaged rotation does not appear imminent.

Sign pedro now.
Pedro wants 5 million so what,!!!! What happend to all the money the Halos DIDNT spend on Teixeira?? Mulder cant pitch with out injury, Byrd isnt sure if he even wants to play ( ya I dont want non motovation on the team) Pedro can start or play in the pen, has leadership abality, and still can have a intimidation factor. Heck Id but tickets to watch him start a game.

I bet you anything
That the Angels are saving the money that would of been spent on Tex to sign somebody else later. Perhaps resign a couple Hint Guerrero, Lackey, MAYBE Figgins. Or they could be saving it for a free agent next offseason, Hint Matt Holiday (If he doesn’t suck this year).
Otherwise yes they could sign Pedro. I personally think 5 mil is WAY to much to spend on someone like Pedro to start only what, 2-5 games until our rotation is back next month? Not to mention Pedro is an over-the-hill pitcher anyways.
If Pedro does come in and start for the entire year, whose place will he take in the rotation?

assuming lackey and ervin come back?
he’d take the #5 spot which initially belonged to moseley/escobar

Yea but he and Soth called it "a bump in the road"
Only minor. He’ll be back later than Lackey and Santana but he’ll be back by late May or early June.

This is an Angels bump in the road
Never forget!
Let's do this for Nick Adenhart, Courtney Stewart, and Henry Pearson.

I don't mean to nag
But its Re-sign. Resign, is what you do when you hate your job! Re-sign is when you renew your contract.

uh not going to happen.
It would take trading nearly half the Angels team to get Peavy. He’s an ace.
RIP Nick Adenhart - Angel fans will never forget you!

I'm not all that sure
That the the Peavy ship has sailed. A couple of things need to happen, but I don’t think that the Padres are necessarily ready to deal… but come June/July the Padres might be singing a different tune.
Although I think Padres have done a good job picking up dudes who are DFA’d and giving them second chances. I think maybe we should be considering this.

i see no point
in trading for Peavy right now because we would have to give up Weaver plus im sure alot more and we would still only have 3 SP
Peavy
Saunders
