Davidson can’t throw a damn strike.
In a year of such turmoil, whining still abounds.

sweet
She is really cute, makes me want to root for this guy.
honestly...
This is the only reason anyone reads her blog, right? Maybe I’m being a jerk here, but I don’t find one thing she has to say interesting at all. Why does everyone kiss her ass?
um..
because its not everyday you get to read about the human side of our ballplayers?
World Series '09 - In Memory of #34 Nick Adenhart!
because she is on the inside
for all the comments about what goes on between the lines, we are left with a gap about life outside the lines. I could care less about her looks or relationship with the player, the fact that there is a broadcast from within is what is of interest.

If your comment includes 'maybe I'm being a jerk..' then yes, maybe you are
My comments aren’t that interesting to me sometimes, either. But that’s why it’s a blog, not a tv show or weekly article. This is the life…. sometimes days are full of drama and intrigue, other days it’s much more mundane than that. And BTW, no one kisses my ass. They kiss Rich’s. Yes, baseball/Rich is the only reason people read my posts. They are curious. It doesn’t bother me. I’d be curious if I were on the outside.
If you don’t like my blog, don’t read it. It’s a very simple concept.

Ashley Thompson
Has got your head foo!
All kidding aside, I’m checked out your blog from time to time and I for one find it interesting. Thanks for sharing your joys and frustrations and all of the musings of your life. Its a real treat to see someone closer to the situation with a point of view.
RIP Nick Adenhart 4/9/09

alright then.
Guess its just me. Nevermind, carry on. Nothing to see here…
Not just you
Quite a few people share your opinion. It’s not just you! I just like that I can explain things like I can here. You are more than entitled to your opinion. I’m a big girl, I can take it. :-)
The number of things people can find to complain about is infinite.
I am not sure how anyone can read your blog and call you a “trophy wife”. Bizarre.
I like your response, “If you don’t like my blog, don’t read it”. Perfect response! Find something better to whine about.
There are many here that appreciate your efforts. I hope Rich soon returns to the big show…take care.
well
i read it because its relatively concise and a perspective that i will never enjoy (especially in california). there’s no reason to debate whether or not it is pertinent because its a blog. take it or leave it. but the fact that it does sometimes provide a scoop (chop being called up or sent down and why) is better than a lot of things i read about the angels. if i read another article filled with angel talking points because they have fringe knowledge at best, i may explode. its a fresh perspective.
i think some are not giving ashley the benefit of the doubt because she is female, which is the unfair reality. all i can say (as a sports reporter for a local paper) if you have to completely forget about the fact that people are going to read and judge your work. ive been doing it for eight months now and i usually don’t allow myself to think about the 30,000 people that are going to see it. no matter what there will be people disagreeing or questioning validity. all you can do is just not stop. if you are having fun doing it (which i very much get the impression you are) then that really is all that is important.honestly nothing else matters, its the way i live my life. that’s what our editors tell us…

" i think some are not giving ashley the benefit of the doubt because she is female, which is the unfair reality."
Not sure if you directed that at me or not, but that is absolutely not the case. It just seems like over the last couple months every Halo blog out there is raving about how great her blog is. I’ve read a few of her posts and just couldn’t figure out what all the hubbub was about. Its nothing personal.
It's like this...
…have you ever seen the TV show “Dirty Jobs”? If you haven’t it’s about a guy that goes and visits people performing their jobs…some mundane, some REALLY dirty, some challenging. It gives a short glimpse into people’s lives…what they do to make a living. Just ordinary people…and it’s (no pun intended) riveting.
Ashley’s blog is a bit like that…giving a glimpse of the humanity behind he “mask” of MLB/minor leagues that you would not see otherwise. Maybe that type of “human interest” does not interest you. That’s OK. It’s a big world with lots of other options or distractions.
For me and others, it is a nice look at the life of a baseball wife…and it is intriguing. Her writing is clear and concise. Try again…you might like the "human interest’ angle.
~applause~ perfectly stated
it’s reading her diary.
Now if this were a group of girls instead of you lugs, it would REALLY get interesting! hee hee hee
RIP Nick
Thanks...
…I tried to bow and hit my head on the monitor.
I think we need stuff like this to keep from seeing each as humans and not as “objects”. It’s life happening…
I think it just gives us a 'personal' connection.
We’re not just fans of the Angels as an organization; we are fans of the men who are playing for the Angels.
I still follow Eck, B-Mo, Jose et al. At heart, they’re still Angels to me
RIP Nick
He will be right back...maybe as soon as tomorrow realistically!
Ortega will start tonight and they will need bullpen help immediately…only surprised they physically sent him home! She should be happy about that… ;) gets to see her man and the Angels are paying for it!
Miss you Nick...! RIP
Can't be recalled for 10 days once he is sent down....
unless an injury occurs and someone is placed on the DL.
RIP Nick...
Jim Scully
Jim Scully Home
You are saying that...
Like we don’t have nearly half the roster already on the DL. I’d say the over/under on another Angel player going down are like 86%.
Of course, I’m not a doctor or a stat analysis so that number is purely speculation.
RIP Nick Adenhart 4/9/09
I agree the blog isn't that interesting
to someone looking for a statistical analysis. The blog is about the HUMAN side of baseball. It’s the real life story of the joys and disappointments of a ball player and the fact that baseball fame is NOT an overnight achievement for most players. It’s hard work and sacrifice and not just for the players; there’s a huge sacrifice for families.
I love reading the blog because there are feelings and emotions there that will NEVER be revealed anywhere else about the ups and downs in trying to make the bigs. You want a reality show….well here’s one for you.
I’m rooting for Chopper and I have no clue about the guy except reading about the blood, sweat and tears thats going into making a name for himself in baseball.
I think that’s VERY panther.
RIP Nick

Me too.

Ashley
keep doing what you’re doing. i really enjoy seeing the human side of baseball…. it’s not every day we get a small window into that world.
thank you, and keep updating us!
Thank you, Nick Adenhart. You will always be remembered. #34
you should see
the comment made by our non-buddy on Ash’s blog.
talk about Mr Ray of Sunshine
Don’t get it twisted, he had 1 good appearance.
The other two appearances were failures in terms of “relief” pitching. Walking the fist batter you face, giving up a homer to the first batter you face … not a good way to distinguish yourself.

I wish I could email her privately but I think she's got him figured out
I’d love to meet her if she ever came out to Anaheim….I think she’d be a blast to just sit and girl-yack with.
HEAR THAT, ASHLEY? :-)
RIP Nick
Another Roster Move
The Angels designated reliever Daniel Davidson for assignment and recalled reliever Fernando Rodriguez from triple-A Salt Lake.
That means we could easily lose Davidson to another team. Not looking like it’d be a loss, given how things have played out recently, but still.
Let's do this for Nick Adenhart, Courtney Stewart, and Henry Pearson.
