It suddenly occured to me that maybe the mathemagicians employed by the Halos know all too damn well that their approach to games enables the team to outperform those statistical models employed by the mathemagicians of the other teams, and they have no vested interest in helping the public reformulate the better-known models. Maybe we should all just STFU and take the blog lumps with a knowing smile…
I am not sure I understand the fun in making predictions on the baseball season … Why not just watch the damn sport and enjoy it? What a waste of time these models and predictions are, IMHO. I can see analyzing player stats for individual projections to determine a deserving salary; but for predicting team wins?? … don’t bother.

I believe I am performing a public service.
Sabermetricians are generally left-brain driven individuals that love delving into the statistical minutae of our grand old game. I believe it is a duty to my fellow statistic-centered brothers – and sister too! – to aid them in the healty development of the other half of their brains. As the right half develops, they will achieve a deeper appreciation of this most pastoral of endeavor into sports, and pass this much deeper love of the game along to their progeny.
This public service is performed free of charge, with malice to none, and charity toward all…
…aw, what the hell…its also enjoyable as hell tweaking them a little here and there!

many (although not all) are so convinced that their version is right and what they believe is 100% always true that sabermetricians when a team like the Angels consistently outperforms predictions, they are quick to call them outliers and flukes, instead of trying to figure out why the Angels do what they do, they ignore them completely and turn into bashers who say that they are just getting lucky.
That'll only happen if that one prospect is the second coming of Christ and redemption for mankind can only be achieved by smacking many balls out of the yard.

2nd year it was a bit more so I cut out posting an image and changed to the spreadsheet directly
now… it looks like I’m gonna have to automate this heh…

..it seems like there might be an open source where we post our picks direct onto a spreadsheet. You retain control to “lock” the picks at gametime & tally the results.
