Used to live on W. 9th and Lark, a couple blocks from the Gavin's location

while my dad was at medical school at BU Med in the 70s. All I can say is I’m grateful my father found work in the OC, as living in Southie for 4 years wasn’t heaven on earth.

I used to live at the Andrew Square area in Southie in the early to mid-70s as a kid

It was an Irish-Catholic hell hole then as it is now. No amount of yuppiefied gentrification can fully exorcise the stench of that place. The recent movie “Gone Baby Gone” projects Southie to a T.
