Bisheff is on to something here...
Woody has played 9 of his 12 games at SS this year in AAA. Are they re-grooming Woody at SS for this year? Aybar’s been fairly disappointing (compared to how the FO views him) and Maicer’s health makes him more of a fallback option rather than a starter.
If they still need pitching, the Angels might be preparing Wood to take over in the middle infield when the relieve some of the logjam that’s there.
Thank you, Nick Adenhart. You will always be remembered. #34

That is interesting, but I don't agree at all with Bisheff's assessment of the offense.
No mention of Napoli’s hitting, Kendry’s contributions, or even GMJ for that matter.

Wood is playing Short because the Bees regular shortstop has a broken leg.

Agreed
I think the Halos are playing Wood at short not because they have a set game plan, but because it keeps their options open while meeting the Bees’ present needs. Given their lack of commitment to making room for Brandon this year, I don’t think we should read too much long term intention into this.

I doubt the Angels would utilize Wood in this manner

very interesting
this is what i have been hoping the angels would do for a long time. I still think that Aybar would be a tempting piece for some teams. As soon as the Angels can get figgins to resign for a reasonable amount trade aybar and put Wood at SS.

Not Interesting
I suspect the front office is getting a hearty laugh at all the speculation regarding the position Wood plays for the Bees. If Wood was being groomed, he would of actually played while in Anaheim. The manager has made his choices for 2009, and barring any major injuries to the infield, I suspect Wood spends the majority of 2009 in Salt Lake City until the rosters are expanded late in the season. If Wood is going to get his chance, it’ll be in 2010.

If the Aybar errors continue, Wood will be up here. I firmly believe it.
Make some noise already people. Come on!
