Hey Clowns! FYI: Matt Palmer is our fifth starter
I keep reading comments on some recent post about how Matt Palmer is moving to the pen when Lackey and Erv come back. This is just a friendly reminder to look at your hand, then count how many fingers on it. Now pretend like each one is an Angels starting pitcher...Missing someone? Oh right, there are five starters. And Matt Palmer is the fifth.
1. Saundo
2. Dream Weaver
3. Big John
4. Santana
5. Palmer
Note: There is this CRAZY website called angelsbaseball.com that can help you keep track of who is on the 25-man roster and who isnt. Also, if you scroll down when on HH(that stands for Halos Heaven...the website you are on), Rev and co. are keeping tabs on what players are on the DL (that stands for disabled list.)
Just a friendly suggestion to keep your facts in order before you start whining about our bullpen, how Weaver should have stayed in longer or whatever else gets your goat.

I had to get a sharpie out but I've got it
And the Angels rotation makes a pretty killer fist!!!

Kind of old news about Palmer is'nt it?
There goes Moseley’s chance of making it into the rotation any time soon, unless, unless, unless………
I am The Iron Man.
Yeah, man...that is kind of the point of the post.
It seems people have not gotten the clue yet on this. So I figured I would write a post to help some of them pull their head out of their arse.

No reason to throw out Escobar's arm
Put him in the bullpen. We’ve got a great rotation with Saunders, Weaver, and Palmer. Add Lackey and Santana and that’s it. Escobar, Loux, and whomever can help in that bullpen depth.

which are welcomed but also ridiculous….

Isn't it rich?
Brandon Wood is slated for 2010, and no amount of whining by us is gonna change that. So evolve, already!

Thank you for the reminder
However, I would like to point out that I have been with HH since 200*6* and hence am not one of these so-called clownish new posters…though again, thanks for the correction on the brain fart. I forgot we currently had Ortega in the rotation as well—when one encounters a black hole, one tends to avert one’s eyes—hence, realizing that two starters going away + two starters coming back + three currently “extra” starters = Ortega and Loux go, Palmer stays. Thanks!
RIP Nick Adenhart.

In the Saenez post
I made reference to Palmer and Loux going to the bullpen and you corrected me. But again, thanks! We all lose baseball-brain-function every so often…:-D

Palmer reminds me of Kirk McCaskill
Steady, control-oriented, innings-eater, and with the ability to get the K when needed. I love him as the 5th starter.
hes too gnarly to be mccaskill
I like Palmer because he is an overweight, old-school type work horse. All he needs is to chew and he is straight out of the 80’s.

This is only for now, right??
Moseley and Escobar are both still on the DL. I think either one could supplant Palmer if he loses his magic streak.
So far the moves are pretty obvious (as everyone has pointed out). June is when things get interesting roster wise, imo.

Scioscia said in an interview yesterday that
Palmer is still in the rotation. Jose Mota asked the question
Umm, I think the argument was about Palmer vs. Loux
And the fact that when we’re back to full strength, Shane Loux is out of options whereas Matt Palmer is not. When Dustin Mosely comes back, someone will have to go back to Salt Lake.
I’m not interested in exposing Loux to waivers, so Matt Palmer it is.
Maybe I missed something. I was at a consumer Surfboard tradeshow this weekend and missed everything. Although I did stumble upon a embarrasing thread where I saw SEVERAL HH members acting like complete idiotic children when confronted by less than aggressive Rangers fans…
