Sportscenter really pisses me off!

Ok so I am watching the Lakers play like they have lost their minds in the first half. The Lakers play is not why I am so mad right now. Evrin Santana pitched for the first time this year, Torii Hunter went 3-5 with 3 RBI’s and a Gold Glove play in the 10th, Jeff Mathis has a walk off single in the bottom of the 12th. So what does SC point out? How many friggen runners Big Crappy LOB…. What the crap? Who cares that he left 12 runners on base and has 0 HR in 150 AB. I sure don’t. SC moves to the west coast and still spends all of their time pointing out useless crap about the Blow Sox and the Spankies. The Spankies played a good game today with one good play. Their center fielder made a good throw to home. They showed it 3 times from different angles. But when it came to the Angels they didn’t say how Bulger (who I hated on earlier and would like to take back now that he humped up today) got the big outs late in the game. Or show any of Hunters RBI’s. Its no wonder none of these guys get the votes for the All-Star game. Oh well we still have better weather.

The Sports Center band is obviously playing to the east coast audience.
All the east coast bias fanposts in the SBNation are’nt going to change that.

plus whenever i see this i just get so pissed because everyone that watches these teams thinks that everyone gets the same air time… just dumb. thats why i only watch fox sports for highlights anymore. there was just nothing on during halftime.

I kinda like them bringing up how awful Roidy McRoiderson has been this year so far. It’s fun to see how impossible it is for even ESPN to talk about how godawful he’s been.
And had this been a 9 inning game, Ortiz would have tied the single-game record for most runners LOB by a single player (Todd Helton left 12 on a few years back), so for that reason anyway, it seems worth noting.

The problem is
That Sportscenter did move out to the West Coast. However, there has been zero change in writers and broadcasters. The location is the only difference. I’m hoping we just have to give it time, but I have little faith.

i think its funny how just a couple days the celts, bruins, and bo sux all won on the same day in boston so SC decided to drop to its knees and blow a 5 minute spot on the their fav sports town! they praised them and talked about how great it was etc etc… y not reverse that now? they all lost yesterday haha its stupid… on top of that they praise the yanks brett gardner for throwing out rod barjas… like it was a great play! he threw out the second slowest guy in the league! haha juan rivera throws out ellsbury on a tag from third on a deeper hit ball and its a 2 second clip… garder throws out barjas and they break it down for a minute clip! we need to start another civil war! west vs east! who is with me!
This is old news, my friend -- Sportscenter has sucked for over a decade now
Anybody remember when they used to show actual highlights for the full hour instead of turning into a 90 minute tabloid and advertisement show? It used to be mandatory watching for me before turning in for the night; now, they can’t be bothered to display the goddamned pitchers of record in any given game.
Now, we are treated to expert analysis (read: op-ed segments) by a collection of sports celebrity douchebags (Sean Salisbury or Barry Melrose, anyone?), and neverending wanna-be hip sporting cliches by all anchors (who obviously attended the school of Stuart Scott — and failed miserably). I also particularly detest being forcefed a second NFL network under the guise of ESPN.
Though not perfect, thank god for the MLB network and Hazel Mae. Oh, sweet Hazel. That is all…

Amen!
Since the launch of MLB Network, I have not watched one second of ESPN’s SportsCenter or MLB Tonight (or whatever the name of their hour-long MLB show is). The writing on SC was good once upon a time, but became insufferably smug and cute in the past decade, with the “personalities” attempting to display how hip they are with references so lame and forced that it just causes me to wince.
MLB Network isn’t perfect—it is truly a work in progress—but on its worst day it is better than the finest moments possible on ESPN.

ESPN and SC
Is a waste of time. Much like everybody else, I haven’t sat through a complete Sports Center in about ten years. Bad writing, piss poor analysis and complete bias, lead to an unwatchable show for those of us outside the east coast, and Chicago and the Midwest. It certainly seems the good people at ESPN are oblivious to the fact there are sports fans and teams west of the Mississippi. Hence, I no longer watch.
