Friday Lunch Thread
5:05 PM in the suburbs of Dallas, Joe Saunders faces Kevin Millwood for your viewing pleasure...
So... what are you doing this weekend? I have a lot of writing jobs to finish up by Monday but I have to judge an art competitionin Beverly Hills and attend a friend's 80th birthday party. Work and fun, work and fun, fit in a baseball game or two on television while I am at it. You?

Meh
Who the hell started this whole co-ed baby shower movement? I will be the latest victim tomorrow. I hope there’s beer. Probably have to DVR the game.
Sunday, I’m gonna watch This Old House and then build a closet.
RIP Nick Adenhart, #34
Co-ed baby showers are bush league and they are becoming the norm.
Play Wood already. Willits sucks.
Thank God...
… all my friends are self absorbed liberal music/art/politics types. By the time they’re done traveling to Prague and Bangkok, mastering yoga, hosting 2.5 venereal diseases each, and doing their part to change the world from a bar stool and their little baby makin oven clocks start gettin ready to ding at 32 or so maybe the whole coed baby shower trend’ll be dead.

I wrote a couple of weeks ago that I have a construction project for a REAL...
…Mickey Mouse outfit.
Spent about 8 months helping decide what they wanted. Prepared multiple schedules, budgets, etc. Went through the whole “Goldilocks” process (Oooh..how much is that? Too expensive! How much is that? Too cheap! How long will that take to get? Too long. What about this? Ahhhhh…just right!). Finally after 8 months (8 MONTHS!!!!!) we had EVERTHING dialed in, scrubbed, reviewed, and accepted. The architects, engineers, and consultants drew up documents and submitted for approval to the client, got approved, went to the city and got permits.
After all of that, and after starting the project, they decided to re-design vast portions of the project!!! Oh…and they told us we had to hold the same schedule, and hold the same budget!!! Haha!!!
So, my weekend will once again be spent scrambling to update costs and schedules. Fun, fun, FUN!!! (Bastards…)
Not a "magical" weekend for you

Hey, if you've got the duct tape already
all you need to add is a pogo stick and a rabid badger, and you’ve got a whole weekend’s worth of fun right there!
Im "on call" at work all weekend...
so whether I will be able to watch or listen to ANY of the Texas series is a big question.

"I see great things in baseball. It's our game, the American game. It will repair our losses and be a blessing to us."
Started off with Angels & Demons lastnight.
Fri: Put in a couple of hours at the office.
Had lunch at Silky Sullivans (Seared ahi, Ceaser salad).
Just got home, and about to go to the gym.
Watch Angels baseball. Maybe head out to a bar but stay sober.
Sat: Put in a couple of hours at the office, go to the gym, run errands, pay bills, watch Angels baseball. Not sure after that yet.
Sun: I can’t think that far ahead other than watch Angels baseball, probably work on a painting, chill out., walk to the beach, and be happy I’m single with no kids….
RIP NICK ADENHART

Angels - Golf - Angels - Golf
That about sums it up with a bunch of beers spread out over the whole thing
Play Wood already. Willits sucks.
Working mostly
1. Got a grant to check the role silicon plays in fighting disease in cucumber. The crop is on the other side of the island (25 minutes) so I’ll be running back and forth from the University.
2. Try to keep my friends from stealing eggplant, tomato, pepper, and cucumber seedlings from my nursery. Might drink a few beers with friends at some point this weekend if they don’t irritate me too much.
3. Try to catch the Angels games, maybe join the thread.
4. Sunday breakfast routine with the wife.
Angel Pitching (Adenhart), Angel Defense - get past that.
Music and Baseball
some friends and I are gona sit around trading albums in preparation for our various bands to go on tour (you need about 50 GIGs of music in the van to keep from killing each other while driving across the midwest.) We’re also gona go hit some balls and watch the games at our local dive bar.
