Kendrick has home run overturned
Major League Baseball has overturned a scoring decision from last Friday's game between the Angels and Royals, ruling Los Angeles' Howie Kendrick reached on an error instead of an inside-the-park homer.
Kendrick was initially given the homer after Kansas City right fielder Jose Guillen misplayed a ball down the line. The Royals appealed the decision by official scorer Mel Franks, and a five-person appeals board voted unanimously to change the ruling, taking away Kendrick's homer and giving Guillen a four-base error. Franks then approved the change.
The decision took away two earned runs from Royals starter Gil Meche, dropping his ERA to 4.01 entering Thursday night's game against Baltimore.

Total Bullshit Call
I have never seen an inside the park home run that wasn’t the result of a mistake or bad play.
GA GA he's the man, if he can't do it, no one can

Bet 'Ol Mushroom Cloud himself enjoyed getting hit with that 4-base error
I would hate to be the clubhouse attendant when that news got back to Jose Guillen.
He singed a statement that he should have caught it
No shit Sherlock

As I said in the fanshot
game scoring decisions are entirely subjective anyway…the idea of an appeals panel for something that’s subjective to begin with is just dumb and totally unnecessary…you trust the scorekeeper enough to make subjective scoring decisions in game, then trust him enough to keep them.
And it seems dumb to appeal for the Royals anyway…so you’ve gone from giving up an inside-the-park home run, to conceding that your team was responsible for an error that allowed someone to make it completely around the diamond in one play. Sounds like six of one/half dozen of the other to me.

Shows who is important to the Royals
Guillen getting an error, or Gil Meche getting the hit on his ERA. Meche wins.

This was a total "no brainer" as I stated at the time...
That ball glanced off Joser’s glove and nearly hit him in the noggin…in the long run, so long as they don’t take the win away, that is all I care about.
Not surprised that it happened only that it took so long…
Honestly, it was probably Joser that told the KCR to appeal that call…that was a “homer” call, not a homer.
Miss you Nick...! RIP
I thought
They only had 48 hours to change those decisions. And if that’s not the case why didn’t they overturn Erstad’s error several years ago? You know, the BS error he was given for not making an almost spectacular play, costing him a perfect season fielding wise at first base?
