Embarrassment !?!

Manny Ramirez is just one of many baseball players to test positive for a banned substance that will leave the Dodger suspended for 50 games.  The over whelming response by the media is to hang the guy out to dry, for being a cheater.

How will the Dodger fans react come July 3rd?  If Man-Ram doesn't miss a step will he still be reveired?  Or are the Mannywood signs as gone as fast as the Wallyworld Posters when Joyner went to Kansas City.

Also, playing the devil's advocate, what would happen had this happen to us?  What if Vladimir Guerrero came up dirty on a drug test?  Or Mike Napoli?  Let me paraphrase our beloved owner Arte Moreno when he said something along the lines of  "Its a crime that Manny will be able to come back to the Dodgers this year."  Even going so far to say a player who fails a test for banned substances should be suspended indefinately.  Bare in mind our Million Dollar Utility Outfielder, Gary Matthews Jr. was linked to the HGH scandal, only months after signing a bloated contract with the Angels.

Manny gets a standing O. Why is there a question mark up there?

We’re talking sports fans.
Dodgers sports fans, at that.

Half of them have waited too many years for this level of promise and success, and the other half think Manny wasn’t even taking anything as strong as they are on when they go to games.

Angels fans would probably give a Naps or Vlad or a Hunter some polite applause at his return, and then wait and watch. If he returns to greatness, all is forgiven. Let the standing O’s begin.

What is truly funny is how they treated Bonds...

I went there for that series when Bonds was nearing Aaron’s record, as I hoped to come up with the record-breaking homerun ball.

There was some serious jeering going on and it had 100% to do with steroids and “cheating.” It is going to be a new era for Dodger fans, as they will finally understand the ability of the Giants fans to still love Barry in spite of his transgressions.

I think they will welcome him back like a prodigal son.

Make some noise already people. Come on!

Accurate analysis

I would add that if the Angels had signed Manny and this happened, I suspect Angel fans would not be nearly as forgiving as Dodger fans will no doubt be.

I give Manny

not remorse for he did take steroids or he is just a woman taking some fertility drugs, take your pick. And if Aybar tested positive or Figgins or Izzy well then I would say the test is a lie, but if naps failed one or Hunter well I would be pissed, but give them a pass. ;)

Fans stand by their man

That’s just the way it is. If it comes out that Spez was juice, would the applause be any less? No freaking way.

GA GA he's the man, if he can't do it, no one can

well ol Garry was on the list. but he was on a list of players that were taking it when it was allowed. well not so much allowed as not going to be punished. he was not with the Angels when it happened and i am curious to know if there has been any Angels players that have taken it since Arte has been here. i don’t think there has but that is also not counting the “150” other players they “will not release”

"its like deja vu all over again."
