AK left due to not being able to live up to his diva potential yet eventually ends up in AAA.

I thought he left due to a guy who owns some TV stores.

Okay.

Brad Pitt “Moneyball Man” could bring back Zito, Hudson and Mulder, and I doubt it would make much of a difference…

Why is AK in Durham?

Jesus, its called retirement.

Do it for Nick '09

No kidding.

I think though, this is the last year of the contract he signed with St. Louis a couple of years ago. He makes $3 million this year no matter where he plays. I think once you retire, you don’t get the cash. So, he’ll probably announce his retirement in November after that last dirty check gets cashed.

RIP Nick...

Why the hate for AK?

Seriously, I’m surprised. Maybe I missed the story about him beating his dog, but I don’t know of any reason for abusing the 2002 ALCS MVP.

I'm not sure about hate...

…I think the comments are generally that AK is well beyond his prime, and Oakland seems to be grasping for another aged veteran to fill gaps in their infield.
I liked AK, thought he was classy guy and had that incredible game/series against the Twins in ’02. Beyond that, he was a really good fielder, and occasional clutch hitter.
Sad to say, I thought it was best for him to move along after the ’06 season. His stats with St. Louis were not too good. No hate though…
