Pittsburgh Penguins are Stanley Cup Champions
In an ironic twist, the Tigers played the Pirates in a rare interleague matchup. Bet most of Detroit would have traded last night's Tiger victory for one by the Red Wings.

Yeah, it was a great game
I was rooting against Detroit more than for Pittsburgh for the series. I was actually just hoping they would keep it close in game 7, I never thought they’d get up 2-0 then hold on to win 2-1. Pretty amazing performance. After the Detroit rush in the first 5 minutes the Pens played an awesome, confident game. According to a stat I heard on the radio, it was the first time in 30 years the road team had won game 7 in the finals in any of the major pro sports. Considering they were down 0-2 to start the series, it was quite a performance to pull it out. My hat is off to the Penguins.
There was a Stanley Cup series going on?
Who knew? Who cares??
"We have a great closer, one of the best in the game, and I wouldn’t trade him for anyone else." (Matt Palmer, after the latest Fuentes meltdown)
Apparently you do.
Between you and Rev, YOU are the one who knows how to spell the name of the trophy…

It was far more fun as it was, this being a baseball site and all...
